Boot-fitter in Toronto area

I am looking for a boot fitter in the Toronto area, so far I have only found 1 place that offers this service around here. Does anyone have any experience with Sporting Life's boot-fitting service at their Yonge St. location ? http://www.sportinglife.ca/sportingl...ootFitting.jsp

Currently I have a pair of Technica rival X8, about 4 years old. The main issue I have with most boots is heel lift.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Suggest you see:

Norm @ Sign of the Skier
Chris Van @ Skis & Bikes (Mississauga location)

Cam Powell at the Collingwood Sporting Life location is good, but I haven't been impressed with the Toronto store service/knowledge.

Hope that helps

Thanks. Any idea what kind of cost is involved with the initial consultation and then the actually work to the boots ? I will probably also purchase new boots as I dont want to invest to much money in my current boots; not a big deal since my feet are done growing ... hopefully they don't start shrinking at some point

If you're buying boots, there's no consultation cost AFAIK. If you want/need lifters and/or canting assessment & bootsole grinding done, then there are extra charges.

Matts suggestions are good. Be aware that Rival X8 is one big momma of a boot. People have been lost inside and not found even following spring thaw. That you are having problems with heel lift in that boot is no surprise unless your boot is often mistaken for a ham.

Thanks for the advice.

I am looking to get new boots this year as I have never been 100% happy with the rival X8's.

I am going to see 1 of the following people (is it worth the extra drive to collingwood or is Chris Van just as good?)

Chris Van @ Skis & Bikes (Mississauga location)
or
Cam Powell @ Collingwood Sporting Life
