So this past weekend I tried out for my college's ski team(it's technically a club not D1 racing or anything) and obviously I didn't make it. They took 6 people plus 2 alternates and I was eleventh in the standings I think. I was wondering what I could to train on my on for next year and hopefully make it as an alternate. I have no race experience besides the two days for tryouts this weekend. I am a freshman at the Air Force Academy so I won't be able to head up to the ski hill several times a week more like once a month, twice if I am lucky. What's the best way for me to train for next year. I know I need to work on my turns as I was sliding some coming into the turns especially on slalom and I was also taking to direct a line to the gates.

Any advice is much appreciated
