I think I may head up to Hunter or Windham Sunday.

Sounds like Killington was sweet today. Cold temps tonight means soft cover for me tomorrow.

Anyone going up pm me if you'd like to take a few runs.

Powdr is getting good grades so far this season. I think they got the message.

Bristol just annouced they are opening tomorrow with one "white trail of death". I'll go for an hour or so before work just so I can say I was there on opening day. Maybe Saturday before work and definitely Sunday.
They probably rushed things to keep up with Holiday Valley..........

Sweeeet I'm getting out a week earlier than I had planned

I just found out my home mountain, Greek Peak, is opening on Saturday. I'm a happy little dumpy...

Kind of makes the Thanksgiving trip to Sugarbush seem like a waste of cash and time, since both are probably going to be WROD. Oh well, room is booked and un-refundable.

Woooo hoooo hhooo woooo hoooo.... damn i'm feelin the stoke....

Just back from Killington. Top to bottom skiing with Mouse Trap in fine shape where there were several soft bump lines that were fun.

No line at the K1 gondi, Glade triple was ski on. It was firm on top but excellent skiing.

Overall real good, but it would have beter if my skiing was on. Every year starts with the first day and I'm glad I went.

2 lifts, 2 ways down. Field/Stoic and Alpha. Funny thing is they only started making snow on Tuesday. How the world they can do it, I dunno? Still good for us nonetheless. Bring your rock skis.

Latest update: winter advisory: calling for 7" of lake effect freshies by Sunday. Maybe GP will look good afterall.

Not sure if it's going to hit that far south. Syracuse is supposed to pick up a foot between now and Sunday afternoon, ha ha it's going to be a snorkel day at 4 Seasons.

Lets hope that some of that snow makes it way down to Greek, so they can groom it down.

Dumping here in Philly. Will create a lot of excitement at work. Maybe one night I might get up to Boulder.

Sugar Mountain, NC, opened on Monday!

Heading up to the mountains, NC, this afternoon, hope to hit Sugar and Beech. Night skiing at Sugar starts tonight, day skiing opened earlier this week and Beech Mountain opens tomorrow.

Good to hear Mt St Lois Moonstone opened in Ontario, from Canuck Instructor. Heading to Midland, ON for the Thanks giving weekend to visit the grand daughter, Now I know to bring the skis.

Okemo or Mt Snow?

I'm planning to day trip from southwestern CT on Sunday and can't decide between Okemo and Mount Snow. Is there anyone that made it to Okemo's opening today and can comment on conditions? Or anyone have educated guesses on whether the extra 45 minutes on the road to Okemo will be worth the time?

oh and first post.... woot!

It seems like every skiing region in the lower 48 has at least one area opening this weekend. I love it when my local bump has the same opening day as Vail.

Skied Okemo this morning! Really nice coverage on World Cup with snowmaking on other trails. Snowing at the summit.

Hey just a heads up to anyone who doesn't have the time to head farther North- Jiminy Peak has E-coupons on its website for $29 for this weekend. That's a decent break from the regular $56! See you there Paul!

I posted that a couple days ago in another thread. I may be there too.
Also it's worth picking up the value card from Jiminy before the 23rd (I think). That way you get the free pass with it.
(The value card costs $42 and saves you $15 evertime you go)
I just got a Stratton email with roughly the same deal. you get a free pass and discounts , costs 72 dollars tho.

Haven't heard anything about Blue yet, but I'd guess the following weekend or the one after. Largely depends on what the temps do. Anybody heard anything more concrete?
MSLM opened Friday (it was good).
Blue is scheduled to open next week, Friday Nov 28. I plan to be there!

Wasn't planning on skiing this week...then got tempted to drive to Hunter today, but wasn't feeling well...so, took a last minute drive with the family up to (not so) Big Boulder up in the Poconos for some late afternoon/early evening skiing. Second season in a row I've started off up there and the snow quality and amount they've pumped out this early in the season has been impressive. Got to ski with my 3 year old for the first time...watched my 6 year old work with poles for the first time and I got a few high speed runs by myself in some fresh untracked manmade. It was a good day.
21" of freshies here at the Bush in the last 48, pretty decent for this time of year. Assume Stowe and Jay got hit pretty nicely.
