Tall Skier

I'm tall (6'5") and looking to buy new ski clothing. So far what I've come up with is the Mountain Hardwear Exposure II Parka for a shell. By all accounts it runs long which would be good for me. For the mid-layer, I see the REI Muir Woods Fleece Jacket. Again, this is good since it comes in Tall. For the base layer, there are plenty of options and not sure if it necessarily has to be a perfect fit.

Any other tall skiers out there? What's your setup? I would love to hear any reccomendations.

Japan, I'm freakishly tall on the slopes, aswell. The issue I've always had is the sleeve length of my ski jackets. I've found that the Marmot products tend to run a little longer... Hope this helps

Occasional sleeve length issues can be solved with this which in and of itself is one of the best gloves ever... It has a long and roomy gauntlet.

I'm 6'1" with really long arms and just got the same parka as you. Then I grabbed a Mt. Hardware Pwr stretch zip-T for a base and the arm length on that is so sweet for me. I've got some Cloudviel mids that fit good as well, but what I've realised is that for a tall, long armed guy, Mt. Hardware seems to have it covered, litterally.

Actually, I'm also in the market for a new ski jacket (6'6", so tallness is a must).

Arc'Teryx makes a full line of tall ski pants (which I now own a pair of), but ironically none of their jackets come in "Tall" sizes.

Frankly, I'm considering getting a custom softshell from Beyond Clothing. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

LL Bean usually sells jackets and pants in tall sizes. Obermyer used to carry talls also. You can also do a Google search on tall ski pants or tall ski jackets. The jackets will have more variety, the pants will all be black except for maybe a grey thrown in. I'm 6'5" and have an Orage ski jacket and spyder ski pants. The Bean stuff will fit when the taller size is purchased as I have bought items from them.

Just to confirm, did you get the XL or the Large? I read on another post that the XL is a bit big, feels like you're "swimming in it". Like I said, doesn't seem right since I always were XL-Tall.

Also, for the Power Stretch Zip-T or Cloudviel mids, do you think they'd be OK for me? I'm 6'4" so I'm a bit taller than you.

Thanks for all the great posts so far, you guys have been very helpful!

It's been an issue for me with pants. I'm 6'4" and I usually just get an XL for my Northface pants. I'm only a 33" waist so they are a little roomy but the length is right.

With coats, it is hit and miss. I almost always got an XL but my Northface coat, that I bought last year was a L by mistake and belief it or not has really long sleeves, which fit perfect.
