Hello skimum, welcome to epicski!
Each division of PSIA has it's own requirements for maintaining cert status. But we'll try to answer your question.
Certification is generally good forever. But there are a few continuing education requirements as well.
Usually, it would include taking approx 2, two day clinics every 2 years. (total of 4 days)
Other options, he can go inactive, but would still have to take a clinic every so often. Then would have to catch up on clinic requirements to fully re-instate.
But all divisions allow for it's members to take different types of training, and qualifying it for the clinic credit.
Many teaching seminars for other sports, or businesses, or even if he got into some APSIA clinics in OZ. He would have to submit a request, PRIOR to the event, with the particulars- dates, curriculum, who the leaders of the clinic are w/ qualifications, etc.
To get the final answer, please go to the <www.PSIA.org
> web site, specify PSIA-W, and place your question directly to that office.
