Tecnica Icon - Replacing Cuff Strap (and heels)

I have a pair of 4 or 5 year old Tecnica Icons DPXR on which the outer cuff straps' velcro is pretty much toast. I would like to replace them but it doesn't appear that Tecnica is offering that anymore - its hard enough trying to find the replacement heels for those boots too. I have read about "Booster Straps" on this forum but they seem to be often more associated with installation between the liner and the plastic shell. I would like to keep the strap on the outside of the shell since that is where I think I need it - I have skinny calves - so I am not sure what I should really be looking for.

Any recommendations on replacement straps and a source for them? Also, I emailed Tecnica on the replacement heels since they are no longer listed on their websites. But that was couple of weeks ago and still no response. Any other sources for the heels.

Thanks,
BigNick

Go with the Booster Strap, it wil;l work well with a thin calf, you can attach it just like the original power strap on the boot. I might also be able to help you with heels, let me check my parts bin, they might be slightly used but they will be well within DIN specs.

toe/heel most technica dealers should be able to order it in for youboosters: work with any boot. Great replacement option, and for skinny legs, shin bang, more rebound

Thanks for all the help. Guy at Seattle REI said that he might have the heels for my boots. I am going to stop by today to check it out.

Are the Booster straps usually available at shops too or is it just easier to get them online? For someone like me, 180-185 lbs naked and an advanced skier, it would seem that the heaviest duty version of the strap would be best, right?

Thanks again,
BigNick

boosters: see if a local store has em, if not order then

I would think that the 2 strap will be enough for your size/ability

Go the 2 strap version. I am 210lbs and a level 9/10 skier and the 2 strap worked fine for me.
