I picked up some closeout 90 waist skis in 178cm length. I was hoping to find something closer to 174cm for quicker turns in the tight trees, but beggars can't be choosers and the deal was too good to pass up. Here is my question; I have read that moving the binding mount forward will in effect shorten the ski up some. But how much is right, or too much? The ski in question is a Scott Mission and the binding to mount is a Rossi 140 Ti. I am an upper intermediate skier in ability and want quick agility (I know most of it is technique - but it is what it is for now) for tight tree sking. Furthermore, a BOF mount seems like it would really move the mount up. However, I have heard that is not the best idea for off piste and is more geared to racing...etc. Any insights from you pros would be welcome - The positives and negatives on forward mounting on this ski - would be most welcome. Thanks to all!
