Do the Performa 4s fit like XWave 6 ?

Ive tried on numerous pairs of Salomons and they seem to share a similar fitting. I am looking for a pair of X Wave 6s (older model or newer model) for cheap, and seem to come across some cheap Performa 4s a lot.

Hi jopeters,

that's because people buy up all the X Waves. The performa 4 is a entry level boot---are you a beginner skier? The X Wave 6 would be a better choice all around. The higher the number on the boot the better performance is built in. Better plastics, better liner, better control.

performa is 104mm last (wide) the wave is 100 or 102? can't remember. It is replaced by the impact that has a MUCH nicer/tighter heel.

hope you get the right (small enough size)

a deal on boots, that don't fit, is worthless. might want to see a boot fitter and odds are they have stuff on sale

ditto!

The Performa four is nearly as stiff as my old broken in leather hiking boots, but not quite. It will wear well around the bar, but is definitely not meant for the slopes.

X-wave is definitely better and some of the newer models as Mtnlion suggest, even better.

The x wave is a 100mm last as mntlion indicated and the performa might be a waste of $$ as a long term investment in a boot, unless you really need the extra volume. If you are serious about skiing, the x wave would be a better boot provided it fits well.
