Deadbolts are actually Vist bindings. A real solid interface, a bit heavy, but solid.

You can change the colors to make em look pretty

Hopefully you get the PEs in the 179. I'm 5'11", 165 and the 179 feels about right to me. I mounted at +1.5", which was the sweet spot according to something I read. I would recommend mounting at the freeride line (+0 on the scale they put on the sidewall). Enjoy.

I thought 4FRNT dumped Vist for Tyrolia on the Deadbolts. The stuff on the website sure looks like Tyrolia.

They did, the new 4Frnt bindings are Tyrolia, same with Amplid.

Did I just convince you to mount at +1.5 when I was recommending mounting at 0?

The majority of people on the forum had theirs mounted at +2. A few had 0. A few others said they had theres at +2 but should have put it back to +1. This is for all mountain by the way. Some said that 0 didnt handle as well in the pow or something with the control of the ski. So +1.5 sounds just right.

Well, I felt like the tail got hung up at 1.5 and I also could have used more nose. Part of it is that it's my smallest most flexible ski, so I'm not all the way used to it.

I just rode them. I got my PE with the 4frnts mounted at 1.5. They kicked asss!!!!!!!!!!!. I was ripping the groomers fast, It handled great in the bumps and ice. In the heavy chopped up powder it was really hard to turn. The tail did get hung up in the really deep and steep. Maybe the trail was too choppy with clumps of heavy snow. But over all it out performed my expectations. Very happy. Smooth ride that loved the steeps but had troubles in the 4ft + deep stuff. Ill try riding it in some knee high pow next time see how it does. If I could change something I would move the mount back to like .5. Im kind of heavy and tall for these 179's at 6ft 185. For a lighter person the forward mount maybe more suitable. Very Happy
