175 cm. Machete Fat Bastards for sale here kids. $150 plus shipping. Dimensions: 124/94/116

These have only about 7 days on them. I loved them in light powder but they are too short for me in crud or heavy snow so I have to sell and upsize to support my fat 225 lb. carcass.

The bases are spectacular and have never suffered even the slightest scratch. They factory structure is still perfect and they're hot waxed and ready to go.

Edges are very good. No rock dings anywhere. They're not razor sharp at the moment and have some discoloration, but otherwise they're fine. The topsheets do have some minor scuffing and some dull or slightly discolored areas on the stainless steel but you won't notice when they're on your feet.

These were drilled once in the heel for Look/Rossi P-14's, and twice in the toe because I moved them back a bit. However, this is drilled into the composite riser plates so that shouldn't be any problem.

I will post some photos tomorrow.

Peter Keelty at http://www.realskiers.com/ reviewed this ski as follows:

"After a season's absence, one of our favorite powder skis is back, redesigned and in two models; one the stronger ski that top big mountain riders and semi-pro powder skiers longed for (this one); the other the user-friendly powder board that has proven to make powder skiing easier and less daunting for legions of recreational heli and cat skiers. Both are much better on the groomed than previous versions, which is good news for skiers who venture into powder from lift served terrain, eg. Alta and Snowbird."

P.S - Yep, you can smash atoms with these skis too - if you can get them going fast enough. I guarantee it.

Amazing how the term "fat" has changed over the years.

The Bastards are legendary, great skis, and these are an awesome deal (I have the Chubbs, and love them).

But, by today's standards, 94mm would be a mid-fat. The Bastards likely ski wider due to their rocker and reverse.

My Chubbs, also a hallmark "fat" ski, are only 90mm underfoot.

Are you saying the FB has rocker or reverse camber? Not mine or any I've seen.

Oops...I was thinking of Spatula.

My mistake.

I believe they are a "flat camber" ski.

If these were "185s" I'd be all over them. Much like the V2 Chubbs, they don't seem to come up for auction, or sale very often.

I bought a pair of FB's a few years back based on the reviews at Epic. Mine are 175 too. Hauled them out to Coloardo a few times and they are a fun ski. Not bad at all on the groomed believe it or not. If you want to get your first "fat" ski IMHO you won't be disappointed especially at the price being asked.

have they been in the new (to you) ski vehicle and if so, anywhere near the drivers seat?? might be worth a premium if that can be documented.

Hey listen here now...You buy them and I promise I will leave them in the car overnight with a fresh coat of soft pink wax. That should absorb some of the "essence."

I don't believe you are familiar with the history of my car seat. And just for that comment, I'm not going to tell you.

I am much relieved.

There can be no details of interest to me since the previous lady driver shut the door last.

BTW did you get new wheels on it or are you still on the Mother Ship theme?

I underestimated you. Your memory is phat! You should buy my skis.

Funny you should ask about the wheels because I just got a delivery of new rims last week. They're Right Here. Maybe a little bit too ghetto but they were a great deal for the money ($455 after Microsoft Live Search/Paypal/eBay Cashback).

I'll wait till spring to see how they look since I just mounted up some Blizzaks on the mothership rims and I'm not taking them off now that snow has fallen in Vt. That would be uber-bad luck.

I never skied the B2. However based on the B2 specs with a 76mm waist width I'd say this:

The B2 is a pretty good one quiver all mountain ski. The Machete FB is not. The FB is a crud buster and powder ski. Its fine on the groomed because it is damp and stable, it just won't be much fun on groomers. Its not awful, just ok. It wants to make a much longer turn and won't be quick turning like the B4 will.

The FB will be MUCH better in the back bowls of Vail etc. when there is boot deep or more fresh snow, almost all the time, and ESPECIALLY in spring conditions where it will slay the slush. It will blast through cut up powder at almost any speed you want without being nervous and you will be able to ski with less effort and more control than on your B2s which can become nervous and twitchy in junk snow because they're lighter, narrower, and the sidecut wants to turn, often when you don't want to, rather than rip through crud.

The FB is a pretty good powder ski. I had a blast in knee deep powder on it. You can ski the glades at Jay Peak after a dump. I sometimes had trouble getting the tips to come up in heavy sierra cement because they're too short for my weight and they're a little stiff up front but it should float nicely for someone your size and turn very easily in powder of any depth. Much more fun in powder than a B2. The B2 will be a lot better in moguls. The FB could never replace the B2 but would be a good compliment if you ski off piste to any extent.

Thank you for your detailed reply
what you said makes sense. I guess what I am looking for would be an all mountain ski to replace the B2. With the amount off deep days that I get, a strict off piste ski doesn't make sense for me right now.

PRICE REDUCED NOW!

Well, some nibbles, but no takers.

Now they're on eBay and you can get them even cheaper (if you know how) here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

Buy it Now total with U.S. shipping is only $194 for skis and bindings. That is ONLY IF you know and are familiar with the Microsoft/PayPal Cashback program. You'll have to figure that out yourself and it works for Buy it Now only. Without that, it is what it says.

Cashback comes and goes without warning but is currently at 25% Cashback. I'm not responsible if they don't pay you or it doesn't work, but I've used it successfully 6 times and am awaiting ~$700 back.

Read allll about it here: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/838081 Try code word wii - works best for me.

BTW-Price is for US shipping only. If any Canadian bears want them, ask me before bidding/buying for a reasonable quote.

SOLD to one of us via ebay. Cashback was granted from Microsoft to the winner - a good deal for everybody.

At least one guy isn't afraid to split the atom!
