Mountain Hardwear and Sypder combo

Bought a Mountain Hardwear "Manticore" jacket and am thinking of pairing them up with a pair of Spyder "Tarantula" shell pants(Entrant G11 fabric-5000mmH20 and up). Not sure of the quality of the Spyder pants in comparison to the Mountain Hardwear jacket. Any suggestion of a pant from Mountain Hardwear? Thx

I bought a pair of spyder pants last year that were gore tex that I really liked. I think they were the Outturn pant.

See the Jacket and pants thread above for an excruciating discussion about Spyder.

While I can appreciate that the Spyder brand may be diluted somewhat with the mass marketing and lower end offerings. I am amused by the overall thumbs down here. I have a Spyder shell and a few pairs of pants and all perform great and look fantastic. BTW, I don't buy them for the brand name, rather for the quality at end of season price point. They make so much gear, there is always some high end stuff for cheap in the summer.

If the colors don't match exactly your skiing will suffer.
Please for the love of God, don't mis match

And, by the way, always make sure there is a "gap" between your goggles and helmet.

I have owned Tarantula pants. They are functional & comfortable. Try them on, they tend to run large. I have a 32" waist & inseam. I had a small/regular & they fit perfectly.

OK you got me a bit there....I have to admit I do have a bit of a matching thing going on in my head....but the bigger thing is I have kinda been out of the ski tech stuff for a bit of time and I know there are many people who do have the experience and or knowledge...............

Buy some CLoudveil pants. Montana isn't ready for Spyder yet.

About a dozen really good pants that are breathable waterproof. Given the life expectancy of pants, unclear why they need to be Spyder.
