So, who saw the new series playing out on TruTV (old CourtTV) last night? The 1st two two segments featured the patrol at Crystal Mountain, Washington.

Thoughts?

Plenty of reviews here, It will be nice to get patrollers take on it too.

"Ski Patrol" series on TruTV ( 1 2) trochilids

Biggest criticism was that the trewell incident appeared staged.... wife in distress, husband to the rescue. I'll check out another episode or two to see if it is still interesting at smaller resorts with no avy danger and lots more cops type segments. I think I'll probably keep watching it, but don't want my very young kids to because I don't want them to be terrified of going skiing (they are ages 4 and 6). I do want them to respect the dangers, but seeing a show of accident and injury after accident and injury probably isn't a good idea at their ages.

We have a 'medium' mountain but no avalanche danger either. A few of the other hills have moderate. I watched with my 10 yr old daughter. She loved it. Hated all the commercials (gotta pay the bills). This is my 1st year 'officially' with patrol (shadowed last year) and she is as pumped as I am. She participated in our refresher (as a patient) and got to see lots of gore.

I thought the show covered the whole range of tastes (good, bad, and ugly). I agree with some staging, it was obvious and made for good effects. I did 'cringe' over some of the patient/guest handling during and after. C'mon, ya let a 54 yr old lady with a tib fract crutch out on her own? What if she slipped and fell on the ice in the parking lot? Red Flag!!!!!

Still, I'll be tuned in next week for sure

Yes, I thought same as certainly there had to be someone here on the Patrol forum knowing someone involved...providing some insider views

That's a good catch for some with the younger ones just beginning. Of course mine are grown and fearless on snow but unfortunately demonstrate no outward signs of things they should consider dangerous that otherwise fill Dad with terror

I caught bits and pieces of it in between house cleaning, I did catch the snowboard chick who fell and whose boyfriend ditched her even before they had her loaded in the sled!!

Seemed pretty staged to me- at least most of what I saw anyhow.

I was watching while my wife was over at her Dad's. I turned it off before she got home, figureing I'd better if I ever wanted to ski again.

Turns out her Dad stumbled on it while channel surfing, and they were watching it at his place!

I guess she gives me more credit than I deserve, cause she thinks I'm smarter than those idiot victims on televsion. I'm not going to tell her differently.

While watching last night, I thought all I need is for her to see this and she'll really never want to go ski.

Just don't let her see the segments from Blue.
