A good amount of our faithful actually have lives and do other things in the summer. Time to check in here and tell us what is new in your ski lives, plans for trips? new gear? new duds? goals for the season?

Apparently either Phil is wrong...or they still think it's summer.

I'm thinking SKI-3PO needs to buy me a beer in Jackson and hoping this season is near the equal of last seasons powder fest.

I'll be MIA in 09/10 due to knee surgery, so I'm making the most of this one.

My goal is to meet and ski with as many bears as possible.

Set the tuning table up in the new season long ski rental on Saturday, bought a new ski helmet at my favorite ski shop in Ludlow VT.

Didn't do much over the summer, race car has been in state of change for months. Did get the car in a magazine, 8 page spread.

No trips planned, furnace is leaking water, $XXXX.00 dollars

But it will snow soon. First ski day will be Nov16th.

Endeavoring to line up business trips allowing for skiing on the backend. Hope to get out to Colorado before or shortly after Thanksgiving. Will be back in Colorado no later than Feb. when I attend a conference and for sure a legitamate week of vacation in early April . A trip to Colorado in Jan . is a possibility.Plan to ski Vail most days. Wildcard is trip to California and tag on 2 days at Mammoth(last 2 years there the conditions unfortunately were pretty boney). Will make trip to see customers before Christmas near WNY and will ski Holiday Valley then. Regular season weekends and occasional Friday Am's will be at Seven Springs.

No new gear yet. But I'm eyeballing the Head SuperShapes at level Nine Sports for $295 and I'm tempted. I would take a couple pair of skis to the local shop tent sale for store credit, but don't think they have what I want to apply the sales credit towards. Still hope to play at least a half a dozen rounds of gold before first turns. Hurt my hip last week on moring jog with dog when I tripped over a fallen branch covered with leaves!

Getting Ready

Fished and played golf all summer.

Now, bought new extend type poles Black Diamond traverse from Backcounty, $47 good deal, got yesterday. Vise, table and wax gear etc. down and in cupboard ready to use. Paid for deposit Big Sky ESA, paid deposit on lodging for Gathering at JH. Checking out trip for Mrs. and I to Sun Valley. Looked up Webcam this AM for Silver and they got about 1-2 inches at the lodge last night.

Hiking at least 1 hour a day and using the weights and doing some extra stomach work and core tightening.

Pictures I too on my walk/hike at 1100 AM today.

View of the Lower St. Joe River and valley, Hepton Lake and St. Maries in 3 mi distance.

Supposed to be 27 degrees tonight at my house. This walk Hike is along the Hill I live on. Didn't see any Elk or Deer this AM but it is Elk season so the animals are laying low.
