Crystal Lodge Whistler

I have booked a room here (Dec 30th - Jan 4th)
Looks nice. In the village and close to lifts and all the action.

If anyone has stayed here before I would appreciate your review
of the place. Thanks!

Maybe 100 yards to the gondolas, 50yards to the village square. Generally your average hotel, nothing fancy but nothing grubby either. Whistler is one of the biggest New Years parties anywhere so don't plan on sleeping that night.

Stayed there 8+ years ago. Average rooms at that time, I believe they've renovated since then. For proximity to the lifts its great. Probably quieter if you get a room on the "backside" of the hotel.

Hi Eureka-like

I've stayed there twice - once in 2006 and went back again in 2008. And if I went back to Whistler again I would stay there again.

The location is excellent. It's very near the main lifts up Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, the ski storage is closer still in the next building along and it's near a bunch of good bars - Blacks, the Longhorn and the Irish bar.

I've always found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and to have all of the essentials (bath, shower, TV, coffee machine etc) - I stayed there for 14 days in 2008 and had no problems at all with beng in the room for that long. The rooms that I had weren't massive but then again I didn't pay for a large room and the location more than made up for it. The Spaghetti Factory restaurant downstairs is a great option for uncomplicated cheap food, and the Crystal Lounge bar in the complex is good for a beer or two.

Hope you have a great time.

I have to agree with Ricky (and not just 'cos I'm also originally from Edinburgh) ... my friend's mother stayed there last year and the room was great for the price ... big with all you would need. Her room had a small kitchenette & a sitting area. The location is superb too. I worked for Whistler Guest Relations last season & I often referred people to the Crystal Lodge when they were thinking of paying mid range sort of prices ($160/night was fairly typical last season).

Thank you all for the feedback. I have a feeling it's going to be a great season. Bring on the snow!
