Shuttle bus in Sante Fe?

We're planning a trip to Santa Fe and Taos for early Jan. Anyone know if there is a shuttle bus from the town of Santa Fe to the ski area? We did this before but drove to the mountain. I'd rather take a shuttle.

Edit - I found out some of the hotels have shuttles, anyone know which ones and if they cost?

Thanks again

Dave

I think there is a private shuttle, Faust's Transportation, from Santa Fe to Taos that leaves 9:00am every morning. They also offer airport shuttle service from area towns and resorts; have used them before..reliable and on time. Why not rent a vehicle? Cheaper....

Ski In/Ski Out Snakedance Condos in TSV offers shuttle service for their large groups but I have scheduled my arrival in ABQ to coincide with their groups and it was free...

Hopefully Santa Fe Ski Area is going to be smart enough to run a shuttle from the Railrunner Train up to the hill and back everyday. But being smart is rarely their forte.

Sorry. Ski Santa Fe only provides a shuttle for employees. They just don't have the financial backing to offer public shuttle service and the city bus doesn't go there. You are correct that some of the swankier hotels do offer shuttle service (think Bishop's Lodge has one). But, honestly, it's so close to town that i suggest you drive.

This would be awesome! But it's so not going to happen.

Santa Fe is indian run, nothing there ever gets upgraded, food, lifts and bathrooms suck. Terran is is pretty good but lifts are slow. The bathroom near the base lift freezes for the winter, gross!!!
Taos is soooooo much better.

This is very true, but living in ABQ and just going for some turns last minute, it'll do. Otherwise on a decent day I'd take Taos or Sipapu any other time.

There are Indians named Abruzzo? You're so wrong.

To the OP: there used to be a shuttle service from town to the ski area - I suggest you contact a couple of the hotels and ask the concierges about it. Try La Posada - (866) 331-7625, the Hilton - (505) 988-2811, or the El Dorado - (505) 988-4455. One of those should be able to tell you the status of town-to-ski-area shuttles. Or call the hotel that you'll be staying at.

How is this even on the same sentence??

Hey, I like Sipapu too, I plan on making it there at least one day this year, and I don't really plan on going to Santa Fe unless events take me there.

Santa Fe isn't really my kind of place...too many people. I think skeee is smoking meth though.

I've never had the bathrooms freeze on me. The breakfast burritos and home made soups are divine. But the little skee is probably referring to the fight that the pueblos put up against expanding into the big t, making a parking lot and where the top of the millenium chair went. IMHO, they were probably right about the expansion and they lost on the other two points, so he should just let it go already.

As to Taos being better, that's just a silly comparison. Santa Fe is a local hill (and a pretty good one at that), Taos is a destination resort. That's like comparing Ski Cooper to Copper. Or Sundance to Alta.

As for Sipapu, it just doesn't get near as much snow, even if it does have that really sweet lodge. So if i was driving all the way from ABQ< i'd just keep going on up to Taos.

Just a bump from a couple years ago.

Is there yet a shuttle bus or train from Albuquerque to Taos? The last few times we've had to rent a car in Alb. but then it sits idle in Taos since we use the Taos Chile shuttle.

A few years ago I heard a rumor that the 'Rail Runner' line was going to be extended but I see that has not happened.

Thanks

Dave
