Tecnica Diablo Fire vs the New Dragon

I currently have been skiing in the Tecnica Diablo Fire's for around 4 seasons.
I spent the most part of the first year getting the boots tuned in. I am extremely happy with the boots and the way they perform. I am not sure why but I am contemplating getting a new pair of boots and have been looking at the Dragons. I can’t find a lot in the way of real reviews on the boots and I have some questions which I was hoping some would be able to answer

  • The marketing stuff claims the boot puts you in a “more” upright stance. What is this compared to? The old Diablo or the Race pro?
  • there are two flex screws on the back of the 120 and 110’s, If I remove one or both of these screws what does the flex rating drop to?
  • Last but not least…are these just Diablo’s repackaged with new buckles?

1, Compared to the range of boots in it's Programme; Speedmachine, Impact etc.

2, Removing screws reduces rebound and should be avoided. What flex will they now be? Well that depends on how tight they are, how tight the buckles are, what temperature it is. Etc.

3, No, completley new boot.

I want and tried on a few pairs of boots including the Dragon and you are right....it is a completely different boot. MUCH wider and a competely different feel (at least in the shop)...I think I will stick with what I have or look at the Pro model
