Real easy without a jig. Best way is mark a centreline down the ski & put centre marks on each end of the plate etc.
If they're Speedlock plates you can install the bindings & boot on to the plate so you can ascertain the fore/aft position of the plate on the ski by aligning the boot mark with the ski mark.
If they're not Speedlock plates you'll either have to do a bit of cratfy measuring to ascertain the fore/aft position of the plate on the ski. Alternatively, if you tell me what model of plate it is & I can take a measurement one of my jigs to give you the location.
When marking the hole locations for the sliding fixings (if your plate has them) just ensure that the sliding 'washer' is centred in the hole in the top plate as this will give the correct amount of slide when the ski is flexed.
