a few whitney shots

Tagged along as a 'guide apprentice' sorta deal on a trip my buddy Barry was doing on Whitney. Kinda like an intern at a company. Mostly hiked in the back of the group, carried gear, provided moral support for some of the fellas out of their element, gotta take a nice relaxing trip up whitney. Camera worked sporadically, as in, didn't work on the summit, didn't work at the campsite. Worked sometimes on the climb and hike in. Here's a few photos.

Man, I was supposed to hike Whitney this summer, but things got too hectic and I couldn't make my permit date. It looks like you guys took the Mountaineer's Route?

Nice pics, I got to live vicariously through you. Hopefully in the near future I'll get up there.

Yup. Mtneers route. That's a fun way to climb that hill. Smidgeon of climbing moves, no stress not being roped.

Just plain old fun climbin'.

Wonderful photos splitter! I've been wanting to climb the East Face for some time. Your pics were motivating.

Very nice. Definitely have to put Whitney on the things to do list.

Your route was in the couloir to the right of the rock ridge that the cairn is pointing to?

Thanks again everybody. I really wish I had a more reliable camera on this trip. I'm thankful it worked when it did, but I didn't get to take the shots I really wanted.

Hey Cirque. Whitney is great. I would definitely put the mtneers route on the list. In that photo, you can't see the route. You actually can't see Whitney. Those are the peaks dropping from the plateau/cirque in front of Whitney. The plateau those drop from is where Iceberg lake (picture below) sits.

To get to Whitney you go up the lower angle slabs to the notch on the left in the picture you quoted.
