Trouble shooting after the Move.....

The movers have pulled the big van up to the new server, and all the boxes have been unpacked, but its possible that there are things that have not been organized in their own special drawer just yet.

Thank you so much for your patience, but wait..........we still may need your help.

If you see a bug, please let us know. You are, after all, the best team of all, when it comes to troubleshooting.

Another thing you should know for the next few days..........
Until everyone's computers have accepted the server change (up to 48 hours after the change), the forum will need to be accessed through an alternate domain name: http://forums.epicskidevelopment.com for immediate access. Most internal links, however, will continue to point to forums.epicski.com. If you find yourself unable to access the forums, be sure to check that you are still at forums.epicskidevelopment.com

Again, thank you for your patience.

All of the members/visitors with Internet Explorer 6: I have not forgotten about the issues you are experiencing. Now that the server move is complete, I will focus my attention on resolving those issues as soon as possible.

Thank you,
Doug Neiner

Looks like we are back online again. I was putting an auxiliary fuel cell on the Motorcycle today to bring my fuel capacity up for longer touring, so I can honestly say, I didn't miss it. Looks like a small crowd for now. 34 members online.

XP/Firefox here.

No bugs to report. Seems just like before. Guess I was expecting a new look or something. IIRC, last summer there were problems that kept us offline for considerably longer than this. Good to be back.

Edit: Oh yeah! I can see the faster server in action!

Mac here - Camino. Working great. But as I said in another thread, only 158 or at best 159 times as fast!

No problems so far with either Safari or Firefox on an Intel Mac (OSX 10.5.4). Great load speed!

Today on the 'New Posts' page the ads are on top of a portion of the 'Forum' column.

Huh.... well now they're not but they were for a minute there

All of my more recent attachments have disappeared, they are still listed in the attachment section of the user CP, but the pictures don't show up, just an empty attachment window.

I have winXP and Firefox 2.something.

Maybe that's why the pages with so many photos load faster

Seriously though they REALLY do!

volantaddict, Your attachments haven't been deleted. I split them off from the database before the move to make the transfer go faster... I am moving the attachments over now, so hopefully I will have them back in place by tomorrow. I will post to this thread again when I am finished for you to verify.

volantaddict, your attachments should be back. Please let me know if they are not.

DNS issue

I'm having an issue accessing the site through www.epicski.com.

Get a server default page from Plesk indicating the domain is not configured or not registered with Plesk.

Access using epicski.com (no www.) or forums.epicski.com works fine.

No problems hereincluding no problems changing size, changing fonts, colors, or all three at once.

Yuki, didn't you have this problem long before they moved things? Got to be something funky about what you're using. Maybe you should change EpicSki editor settings from WYSIWYG to "Advanced".

I'm impressed by the new speedfulness. Good work by the Epic Team.

Oldeasternskier, I hope this portion of the OP in this thread helps you out a bit.

Try visiting http://www.epicski.com again, and when you get the Plesk page, just hit refresh in your browser. If that doesn't work, hold Shift down on your keyboard and hit refresh again.

One of those should bring it back up for you. Apparently you hit the site early Friday morning before I could fix the www pointer on the site, and your browser has cached it as never changing. Hope that helps
