Totally off topic but are the Salomon Driver bindings still indemnified?
I noticed you have several pairs on your Volants. I have a pair of DR9 Equipes circa 1995 just laying around and thought they were worthless.

Yes, worthless, however being the good guy I am, I would be glad to pay shipping to relieve you of the clutter.

Seriously though, they were still indemnified on the '07-'08 list, and I haven't found a new list for this season, however since 977s were also on that list, I doubt highly that the DR9 would have been taken off this year.

Thanks for the reply! I may have to find a use for them...

Oh happy day, I just won an auction for these:

After breaking one last season, and then doing my best to mend it (which I expect to work really well actually) I was excited for the opportunity to score a backup pair of these awesome sticks.

Since they are coming with s914s I should be easily able to mitigate the damage by selling off the bindings, and mount them eventually with the bindings off the old pair, once the early season is past.

This will make for for a lucky seven pairs of Chubbs.

Great news VA !

I was wondering if you were ever going to find a replacement pair.

Take care.

Volantaddict,

My local ski shop (Scotia, NY) has several different '05 Volants on close out for under $100. Most are too short for you, but a few might be acceptable, and the price looks right.

At this point the only Volant I'd want would be a 185 Machete FB, or mayby a 190 gold vapor T3 Power. Though I fancy having those, I really am far from being in need of more skis.

I saw several pairs of Machete's at my LSS yesterday in the closeout bin. I think they were $249 per pair.

Volantaddict's good karma rubbed off on me today. We have added a new baby to the family, scoring the new 165 FBs from Goldstocks for my wife! New baby announcements, as is customary, will go out to family and friends next week. Our family has grown to six pairs of shiny Volant skis... 3-pr chubbs, 2-pr FBs, 1-pr powerkarve!

I'm with Comprex on this one, obviously they aren't that serious about closing them out.

On another note, to further heighten the absurdity of the demise of my finances, I purchased yet another pair of 185 V2 Chubbs, which will be my third pair of them, and my eighth pair of Chubbs overall; prindle_16 made them available at too reasonable a price for me to pass up. I'm feeling pretty saturated.

However I am confident that I will have Chubbs to ski for years to come.

I hope the Fedex driver comes before I have to leave for work tomorrow.

Hi VA,
In todays (11/26/08) Denver's Craigslist under sporting: 2 pairs of Volants. Unsure if the 190 cm pair is the gold T3. Happy hunting.
