Well, the name of the file was chamonix.jpg....unless you're messing with us.
Flat...good grooming...only a couple inches of new snow.....this MUST be the backside of Steamboat?
Actually I doubt it. IIRC...that side is called Morningside...meaning the sun rises on that side. And I see the sun is on the other side.
Well, it's Snowbird but I've always thought this was Upper Silver Fox. I entered through the gate off the upper road. Silver Fox and Primrose merge a bit but I believe you are correct because my camera was pointed over toward the Primrose side. Local name for the trail to the left is Macaroni Chute, I believe.
Mac Chute is just the rocky chute near the top and is part of silver Fox. Silver Fox is further left of mac chute and about 300 yards to you left of this shot. Down lower silver fox becomes "rock chute" on the left. Your are for sure on Primose.
Pretty much. Champagne glade off to the right (of the picture, skiers left), and in the wuides coming straight down.
Hmmmm, well this is the Wilmington trail at Whiteface. Perhaps Bears haven't frequented this new trail since it's opening three seasons ago.
No need to name the trail as there are a few in this picture, just name the mountain. Happy Friday! It's snowing everywhere (you know, everywhere that matters ;) )!!!
my son was just there and took some shots. the north wind was blowing just like that up one of the couloirs in one of them, so it strikes a chord. such a beautiful mountain. I hope the way more resorts are structured in the future, with a lot of hiking (and some affordable heli opportunities) now, back to keeping it a secret.
