You Decide...

Both?

The video doesn't talk about the -20F temps.
The video doesn't talk about the killer winds.
The video doesn't talk about the town having three motels, two restaurants and one and a half bars.
The video doesn't talk about it being in the absolutely deadest area in VT as far as anything what-so-ever to do.

So, why the heck would any one want to go there? Ya'll be happier just to go somewhere more interesting and more fun and more of everything else.

See

See you in January

The two guys featured in the video, Jay and Noel, both work in the Jay Peak Demo Center/Repair Shop, and have been there for quite a few years now.

Scale of 1-5
If you are promoting Jay Peak........1
Video...........................................4
Ability of the film stars..................2
Sick Factor...................................0

Jays all about the trees and nothing else. Where's all the tree skiing?? DECENT boarders DECENT skiers but for a promo you gotta have some kind of WOW factor. Where are the face chutes? In this film you might as well be sking Gunstock.

Shameles promotion for the masses, point being Jay has lots of snow not that it has steeps that most of the audience won't want to ski.

Sorry only bustin and great job!!
It's a mountain many have never skied but should.
Last time I was trusted to take a video we got an hour of my left foot.

Who cares about the temp, the winds or the fact that there is fu(k nothin' to do around, they've got the snow ... (and the terrain)

(the thing is that I am dead serious when I say that)

Jay rules ... (wish I could go more often...)

Ski.
Eat.
Have sex in motel room.
Sleep.

What else do you need?

On the sex front, Jay is like a ski area cafeteria that only serves sausage. You want anything else, you need to bring it from home.

Then again, if you're skiing the Jay the way you should, you'll be ready for bed after dinner.

As a tv/video producer I have to say that is a very good video. It is targeted towards those who are most likely to be interested in Jay and hammers home Jay's biggest selling point - the snow. It cleverly shows some slopeside condos and a family shot or 2... plenty of the tram, and even sneaks in a bit of nightlife. The interviews with the ski bums are more interesting than a typical voice over would be.

The only exception I take with it is the film artifact transitions near the head - but that's just nit-picking from and old schooler.

if its all about the snow... then i'll go to Alta or Snowbird. There, I can fly out there for the same price, stay in a hotel for about the same price, and not deal with -20 degree weather and winds...

If I want trees I hit up the wildcat lift on Alta or the outskirts of Snowbird.

"Fly out there for the same price" as what? I don't know where you're coming from, but for those of us in New England it is certainly cheaper to buy a tank of gas than a plane ticket!

Jay is back on the radar for us in March. Where is the best place fora "couple" to stay with a package deal.

ah, sorry. From D.C. to SLC its about the same price flying up to VT. I could drive ten hours.. that's a bit of a pain though, and unless the roads are good, my car wouldnt be able to make it through much snow.

But what I forgot to put in that post is, i probably would be willing to try it because if it gives me a challenge on the east coast, then i'd probably make the trip. I only get about 10 days of skiing in a year.

I think that's a pretty awesome video and really promotes it well. If you were going for both, I say mission accomplished.
Ehh, its both, but i liked it nonetheless.
