You are supposed to have an invite to enter but I never have seen anyone check at the entrance. During check out however they did ask to have a form filled out for the race stuff. I don't know if that means if you're not with a club/school, they wouldn't sell to you.
I did go last night and it was busy at the race end. Most of the patrons were junior racers from the region (same reason why we were there). Most major brand had a setup there and their reps were pretty knowledgeable. This year many items demo'ed by the vendors didn't make it to the price list and The Ski Company (who's hosting the sale) just plainly refused to handle any order of anything not on the list (even though it was on display and the reps were willing to take the orders). That really limited our choice and we ended buying something off the shelf.
The highlight of the night was to meet Tommy Moe. Didn't chat much with him but when I went up to him for an autograph, he simply initiated the greeting but sticking his hand out and said "Hi, I'm Tommy. Who are you and who's this little skier with new skis?" (pointing to my younger daughter and her new Atomics with a smile). At that moment, I can only recall the Meet and Greet over the summer with a couple Hanna Mantana "stars" and how that was as compared to this "meet and greet". When I explained to my 9-yo that he was the best skier in the world, her response was "but, he looks just like a regular guy and not like anyone famous". How innocent!
