Forum newbie looking for freestyle equip. advice

Holy crap……………how have I gone so long without finding this forum? Just stumbled on it yesterday and have found TONS of great info so far.

My stats:
6’2”
195lbs, athletic
25-35 days a year
26

Like most of you, I’ve been skiing my whole life. I’d consider my ability a strong 8. I’m the typical all mountain guy that hunts for veins of pow (not hard to find) at my winter sanctuary (Kirkwood, CA). Just recently, I’ve gotten really interested in freestyle and park work. Looking for suggestions on a ski/binding combo that would compliment my size/ability. Catch is, they’d need to be used outside the park on non-pow days. Ideally, the skis would be great for park and all mountain work.

Current skis are AC40s and Gotamas.

Thanks guys!

Do not get PE s they are to big for park. If you want to concentrate more on park then get a park specific ski and deal with the all mountain performance. The suspect is pretty sweet but pretty expensive.

If this is your first time or are new to the park you are going to trash your skis so don't spend more than 275 300. Look at rossignol scratch series. The bad part is they normally come in 176 and 182. I like to ski exaclty between that for park skis. Just about anythign cheap good name brand will work.

176

If you do have the money check out 4frnt stl or any of armadas parkipe specifics. I really like the stl and should have pulled the trigger at tramdock.com

Also I am the same Size as you.
