10-to-1, Baby: Post/Ski Day Ratio

(Or "No One Here Gets Out Alive")

So, I started posting on Epic roughly two years ago. In that time, I've skied (only!) about 100 days. But I've thrown up around 1,000 original, cogent, thought-provoking posts. Like this one. That gives me a ratio of about 10 posts for every 1 day of skiing. What's your ratio?

Much, much worse.
222 days since joining Oct 2004
3,494 posts with this one

Ratio about 15:1
15 posts for every day of skiing

Based on your post you've only had 10 posts in your 100 days of skiing (you said 1 post for every 10 days of skiing.)

106.06 to 1 and rising, heh! Yeah, and not only that but the cogency of most of my posts is questionable at best

I'd gloat even more but I know of some that would blow me out of the water.

Can't wait to start reducing that ratio though

My calculations:
560 posts since Nov '04 (not counting this one)
Ski days (± 2 days for more than 2 seasons ago):
04/05: 40
05/06: 41
Summer '06: 25
06/07: 38
07/08: 52
Total: 196

= 2.86 posts/ski day

Well, I joined Epic in Dec. of last year, and I believe that this will be my 242nd post. I skied 48 days last year, and am going to guess that eight of them were in Nov. or early Dec before I joined, so that leaves 40. According to my skiers math (ie. calculator) that means that I have 6.05 posts per day of skiing. However, four of the nine months that I have been a member here have been "summer," and although I DID ski a couple of days each in May and June, i expect my ratio to be much better by March or April of '09!

I don't even want to think about it.
I've skied 5 days since joining Epic.
That looks like about 840:1
Hey! What do I win??
Does this make me host of The Jong Show?

About 15 to 1. I need to ski lots more.
7.3 to 1.

Ratio

I hate sitting aroung in the winter so I ski

I generally hate TV so I read and buy Epic people.

The Count? Who cares.

I generaly support the "ignore typos" rule, but I really, really wonder what you were trying the say here.

so instead of a post count in the upper right corner, we should have a PPDOS (post per day of skiing) number.

Some smarty pants needs to develop this application.

That would mean we would somehow need to log each ski day so that they could crunch the numbers... interesting. Having a number of days skied shown alongside number of posts could avoid entire threads which ask that very question. We would have to define what counts as a "day" skiing... does an hour on the hill at lunch time count? What about night skiing on tiny Massachusetts "mountains"?

1422 posts in 6 years. Figure about ~360 days. About 3.95.
I'd probably be down around 20:1 if we take out the Lounge posts that have nothing to do with skiing
post #18 of 18
5.8 posts per ski day.
