what's also been funny is watching this dodgers/manny extended honeymoon, and how the dodger faithful are soaking it up, as well they should be, given how he's pretty much carried them, while loosening up a generally young, relatively uptight clubhouse. the kids have benefitted.
but there's a buying-into here that portrays manny happy as a lark (he should be, given how things have gone and how they're going to go...for him), probably just misunderstood and underappreciated in his previous setting; whatever happened in boston was an abberation, all he needs is a healthy dose of southern california sun and the occassional santa monica breeze to keep it going.
my guess is manny will be in new york, with one of the two teams. but a part of me hopes he stays, just so the faithful here can get a glimpse of the bumpy part of what marriage to manny can entail. couple of local talking heads were trashing tim mccarver for, in essence, being honest about manny and manny's behavior. they called it "his (mccarver's) truth." but it's not; he was simply replaying the facts, which are, in manny's case, not always the most flattering to manny.
but you know, it's happy time here in blueville; nobody wants to hear the messenger hint at the emperor-of-the-day's occassional character traits.
