some angels talking about how they're the better team, the usual sour grapes. understandable, it's frustration. they'll step up to the plate later. still, "better teams" catch pop-ups, "better teams" get bunts down and play defense and get big hits. "better teams" win.
lackey was bugged about d.p. being excited at second base, "like he'd done something." uh...hello? that's a fairly significant run. lackey wouldn't mind dice-k's run support. or a chance to have a certain fastball back.
and right, i don't think it helps the angels in october to have spent the summer plowing through the american league worst, or least, or whatever you want to call that division.
as for that pop-up
(angels won anyway), nobody wanted it. it looked like each of them wanted no part of it. that speaks volumes. and kills you in october.
easy to second-guess that squeeze (though i'm fine with it
) but that's the beautiful insanity of the game. it's the kind of ball they play, it's how they win. if he gets it down...?
who knows. he didn't. better teams execute.
