Anyone know about this program?

If so, is it a closed enrolment, or can anyone sign up?

Cost and details would be appreciated.

I was told it is a Skiswift deal, does he actually lead, or is he the guru?
I'd love to follow him around the mountain for a few days!!

Thanks for any info...

Fresh Tracks? That's a ski school thing which SkiSwift has been organizing for the past few years. So yeah, closed enrollment. Also, he participates, it's lead by D-Team types.

You might want to look into Bombers. Skiswift and I both lead groups in that last year and it's in the same time frame. In fact I think we both missed a day of Fresh Tracks to coach it.

Fresh Tracks

Hello Dc......

Heard about this program.
From what I know, it is for Ski School, plus skiswift invites some local people each year.

Evidently, he was persuaded to invite a person from Epicski one year, to less than universal approval!

Never heard about Bombers. Maybe, Epic or Skiswift can tell us more.
So, DC, what you been up to? Last we heard, you were blowin' out of DC..
Did you actually leave, and where did you wind up?

Good question, I was wondering too.

Bombers is a ski club based in Albany (I think) that has a race camp in Stowe every December. I think they'll let pretty much anybody join them, as there were people from all over the East Coast in my group. While teh camp is billed as a race camp, not everyone races, I'd say there are fewer racers than non-racers there. Nobody in my group had ever raced, but we did do a lot of skiing and did a run or two down the race course on the last day.

Bomber's is a great event, but he seems to run it mostly for his friends. If you haven't been there -or know someone who has- you will have a hard time contacting him. Does Snow God Scott still attend? Sadly, it was pushed off my calendar years ago.
FWIW I think I was the first to propose an early season Eastern ESA, and my idea was I could run something like Bomber's. That was after the first ESA which was coached by frequent posters, not the rock star coaches they have now.

Don't know. All I know about is my little group. BTW - googling the word "bomber" sure does give you a lot of hits, and I forgot that a "John Anderson" once ran for president.

Bombers

Good stuff, Epic!

Yeah, I bumped into 'Bomber' Anderson a few years ago, don't think my liver could sustain the pace he was setting!!!
Seemed like a fun bunch, tho.
Checked the web-site you listed.....

Bode...I would be VERY interested in ESA if it was coached by locals at Stowe, K-mart, or the 'Bush.

You're saying it was at one time, or am I misunderstanding you?

ESA started spontaneously from the regular posters here. The first event was organized and conducted entirely by frequent posters. Shortly after that, ESA changes to an event staffed by leading pros. The coaching has no doubt improved, but the opportunity for an on-line discussion with the coaches was more or less lost.

DC's long strange trip...........

A millenium ago, it seems, I managed to sell my house in DC, sell my Porsche, and hit the road.
I did buy a e550 4-matic wagon, added a monster Thule rack, and took off. Made a side trip to Virginia to arm myself, then set for adventures, and to satisfy a small advance I'd received for a publisher.
First stop was at K-mart, the place looked like Dianne Goodhall has assigned the design to her troupe of gorillas. The most confusing mountain, weird locals, mediocre skiers.
Too many, way way too many brats from the city, spending Daddy's gelt, and acting special. NEWSFLASH!!!! None of you special, or even acceptable.....plus none of you were getting laid!
More to come on Killington,,,,,,,,,,

Sugarbush.
oops times awasting,,,my chariot has arrived, to be contined

Fresh Tracks

Bumped into one of the guys who works at Inner Bootworks, he seems to think that Skiswift DOES indeed include people from outside the Ski School.
He also says that it is by far the best training event he has heard about.....plus a lot of fun.

Skiswift is evidently on summer hiatus.....I've sent him several emails, no reply as yet.

Come on DC.....more dirt..........
I thought you would be at the Democratic Convention, if I recall you labored at the DLC.
None of your clients from the DLC seem to have much leverage these days.

Dc.......

First, the facts re: Fresh Tracks.
This is a tough invitation to score, Skiswift limits it to present and past Ski School members, plus locals who have a connection to the mountain.

Secondly........................Jeez, DC please put your tale on here....your email had me laughing so hard I had to clean my monitor. The "chastity belt tour", indeed!

Worrying about my investment at Stowe now after Wall Street's
implosion.
Too many 'captains of the universe' playing with funny money. They are all such unimpressive people, who ultimately have ruined many investors' lives. Hang 'em, I say!!

Illegitimi non carburondum

Thanks, Skitoday...........guess I'll have to go to another plan, rats!!
Wow, how is your home in Stowe doing?
Has AIG's collapse impacted your investment yet?
I NEARLY bought one of those places on Spruce, guess I could get it for a lot less now.
Do you think that traffic at Stowe will be affected by the nonsense on Wall Street?

My clients at DLC are laying low, waiting for 2012. We realize that the One is such a bad candidate, who well might make it, that Hillary will be a shoo-in in 2012.
Only other possibility is my man Bill Richardson. How the hell could we go for an empty suit when we had real mensches as alternatives?
Hillary was the last 'man' in our primary.......RATS!!!!!!!!!

Chastity Belt Tour?? Use your imagination.......I went to most major ski areas in this country, took lessons everywhere, was incredibly disappointed by most, partied hard, kept the Ole belt well locked for almost a year.

Have you thought about doing ESA? If that doesn't work and you want to find an instructor up here, let's talk. I'm sure we can find somebody.

ESA

Epic, thanks. ESA does not appeal to me too much.

As to finding an instructor at Stowe, I've been skiing with Skiswift for the past few seasons, unfortunately he is so seldom available when I have come up. Maybe, this year, I'll be up more midweek and can hook up with him.

Thanks again for the offer to assist, I appreciate it!
