One of the last remaining small hard-core ski areas in British Columbia has been sold.

Whitewater Ski Resort (and we use the term "Resort" lightly) outside Nelson, British Columbia, has been sold to Calgary-based Knee Deep Development Corp. The buyers supposedly have some history in the Nelson area and are actually skiers. They have hired a new General Manager, Brian Cusack, from Castle Mountain.

Rumours regarding the potential sale of Whitewater have circulated in Nelson for several years.

The news broke on CBC, TGR and in the Nelson Daily News (an organization which often reports "news" three or four days after the event) on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. I'm a bit surprised it hasn't been posted here, as well. Anyway, that's the news for yesterday.

Now we get to sit back and see what happens...
