What happened to the 184 BRO?

Umm, I mean 183... I was just looking on the PM Gear website and noticed that there isn't a 183 BRO listed under this years models anymore. Is it a thing of the past? Tyrone?
No affiliation with the company, just a customer...
It is my understanding they sold all the 183s, therefore they were removed from the website. I heard something about "one more limited run" of the Swiss-made 183s. I would email them now if you are interested.
Sun Valley is right. I heard the same thing...VERY limited run upcoming so you have to get on it. The 183 seems to be a popular size for a lot of people and difficult to find used as well. I settled on some used 188s...which will be sweet.
yep. Pat is taking preorders now for a 100-pair limited run of the hess-core, AK-pressed 183s for next season (available in October, I believe). I got on the boat and have dibs on a pair already. Twoplanker over on TGR is their website guy and he just had a kid so that's why it's not updated yet- also their website doesn't have their brockers up either. It WAS a thing of the past, and Pat said they really weren't making crap for money off this coming run, but the 183s were just so sexy/sought after and sold out so fast that they were just proud to be able to offer them again to get 'em out there and up their rep even more. No soft flex this time around though- stiff only! So bring your balls!

If you send an email to sales@pmgearusa.com, attention Pat, I'm sure you can get on the boat too, as the only people who know about it are either on TGR, or on Epic and in the know. I'm pretty sure I saw a used pair in the TGR gear swap too, but a bit overpriced.

Got it! Now to find the $ and excuse to get these AND the movements this year... hmmmm, this is gonna take some thinkin! :

(Post # 2 in the TGR thread sums up my thoughts exactly... right down to the potential early xmass request from mom and the fiancee who's convinced I have enough pairs of skis already!)
When in doubt I grabbed the green one. Just a great ski.

Damn you, Sun Valley... DAMN YOUUUUUU!

Jay: seriously, who knows if the 183 will be back again. I would think so, but you can never be sure. Just go back and read the very last post in that thread. Movement is dope, but PM Gear is the tits! That and you probably won't see anyone else on the same sticks all year. I dream about my pair and can't wait to get my hands on 'em.

Life is awesome, eh? How cool is it to make this decision?!?! Hmmm... Thunder or BRO, : No losers there!
Nice work, Sun Valley. They are great skis. I'm going to also pick up the 192s...I think those things will flat out crush anything in their path. Its great to support these small, rider-owned companies like PM Gear and Praxis...and the customer service is so much better. Generally, I'm saying good bye to major conglomerate skis...the prices are actually better for these botique skis if you take advantage of pre-sales and other incentives that they provide to help ensure they have enough orders. Plus, its also fun to be part of the movement.

Thanks dudes...pretty much nothing left for me to offer regarding the next run of 183's. Thanks for covering for me while I was away getting my arse handed to me on a PNW volcano

Hey Ty, I have a huge gaping sore on my soul- I call it "summer"... If you could pour some lemon juice on it and maybe rub some rock salt in there, that would be great!

Excellent work! The overwhelming pain of the stinging, burning sensation made me forget for about 47 seconds that it's 80 something and I have to put a leather welding coat on now.

I must be doing something wrong

Sorry to pull my own thread back from the dead, but my funds are coming closer to being where they need to be and I just thought I'd check and see how many 183s are left for this year. I think the run was going to be about 100, any idea how many have been ordered yet? I should be ordering mine sometime in the next month or so, I hope I can still get 'em!
Still available to order Jay --

send an email inquiry to sales@pmgearusa.com

If you don't get a prompt response shoot me a PM and I will help you out.
Dude, I'm sure there's some left, but why wait till next month? Pat will take monthly payments of min $100. So get ahold of him, give him a down payment to lock yours in, then pay 'em off next month when you've got dough.

Do yourself a favor and go to TGR, in the tech talk section there's the new sticky for equipment reviews... Look at the ones for the 183... You will be sending a paypal before the day is through.

Indeed it does! Although I must admit that now I'm a little obsessed with finding a deal on bindings! I know I could wait for winter and pro-form something, but I wanna get 'em mounted as soon as they arrive!!! ::: What did you end up getting for yours, the mojos or z12s?
I got a set of used Mojo 15s plus a set of rossi demo bindings for $110 shipped to my door. Thank God for the maggots.

The more I think about it I feel like I should have gotten Dukes, just for the increased on-piste tip-in factor that would probably be useful here on the east coast but my pockets say shut up and ski.

What are you thinking about for binders?

I think that I'm going to set these up alpine, for durability if nothing else as I plan on pounding the hell out of 'em!; however, I've got a pair of 172 Karhu Jak Team Editions (same as Line Prophet 100) that I plan on making AT sometime soon. I HAD been thinking about putting Freerides on them though, why do you both recommend the Dukes instead? From what I've heard/read the dukes are kinda heavy....

I'll give you that. They are a tad heavy, but, if not the duke, then think about the Jesters. I really like the wide mounting point on the jester, and was actually going to put them on my bros, but a Duke Situation fell into my lap.
If you don't have a shop you deal with, you may want to PM Whiteroom. He works for a shop in Stowe and may be able to find something sweeeeeet.

They're badass bindings, and they're taller too- which is a bit better for our eastern icy conditions, it helps the carving aspect of them- I've heard people say that they're far more on-piste friendly with Dukes. (shame, shame!) I got the used Mojos cuz I got a smokin deal and I plan on abusing the snots out of them anyways so buying brandy-new $300+ Duke set isn't feasable or practical for me personally. I'm going to try to suck less in the air this season too so a heavy binding is also not good for me. I'd make the Karhus your ATs and the BROs your freeriders, personally. Hey whats your BSL?

Usually wear a 9 or 9.5 street shoe... small, but not tiny. It took a LOT of fitting to get the 24.5's right, but they ski SO WELL!!
