HOSE 'EM OFF AT THE END OF THE DAY! Then re-lube and you should be fine. Besides "water damage" sounds like a great excuse to buy some new boots to me. There's already a thread about this pool-jumping, and I would love to go. How much is it to do that, seriously?

It costs $68 to get coached and use the pool. You are required to join USSA which costs $60 if you are a rookie, which I am. I think that there is an insurance issue that membership addresses. You still need to provide coverage information from your own health ins.

The pool is a diving pool, as in Olympic diving. There is a bubbler that helps soften the impact on missed landings. There are three jumps, I think, but the most popular is the small one which resembles the jump in the bump competition. The intensity of the lip is adjustable.

There is talk of an Epic gathering at Lake Placid tlhis summer. I still intend to go for a day in early July, however the original coach will be at Mt Hood with Phil.

If there is interest, I might be up for it. Peer pressure will help us all. I will talk to the coach about a session for us all. :

Paul, get some gear donated from bears who have stuff laying around.
I may even have something you can use.
Then, after the event, Autograph them(along with the coach)auction them off on epic in the Epic Auctions, along with a copy of the video of the jump.

We could cure world hunger.

I have my Lines (the boy's Lines) and my 724 Pro's at 177. That should do it. Meanwhile I am not going to use my new boots, the ones I wined about all season. I'm going to use my old boots, the one I wined about before I got my new boots. I have an appointment to get the bindings set up right.

The rookie memebership for USSA came through so I am set to go for anytime after July 1, 2008. I'm up for an EPIC day in the tank as well, that could be a good time.

I was thinking we could paddle around in the landing pool and bring brewskies to folks after they belly flop their back flips

Or, maybe we could fish for gear on the bottom

Dood, I want to take it off the ramp!

I'm working on my 540 indie grab but the oars keep getting in the way.

That changes the "name my boat" criteria quite a bit!

It's gonna look a lot bigger in person:. I tried to find the pictures from the camp I went to in 1981. Nowhere to be found. I'd say the set up there was more like the two on the left with the smaller one being about 10' above the water and a larger one that nobody in my camp dared to attempt.: The one on the left looks more my speed these days
I'm pretty jelous still You're really gonna enjoy this Paul

MainSkiLady's son has done Lake Placid a few times. She has posted a bunch of info, video and pics, which has generated a thread about the topic.

That Trekchick... She's snow hot right now...

Just out of curiosity, I Mapquested how to get there... This is what I can expect From Springfield to Lake Placid... Estimated Time: 3.0 hours 50 minutes (at legal speed limits) Estimated Distance: 224.86 miles ... Completely acceptable to me, especially if we can get a few people together to carpool. HA! Get it? Car-Pool! I freakin' kill me...
