I think parabolic skis were the greatest advance in ski design since Howard Head invented metal skis, but the idea never caught on with consumers. Parabolic confused skiers who thought it meant the tails were as wide as the shovels. So I think Elan only had 'parabolic' written on their skis for a few years, starting I think in 1997? I know there are people here that can date those. I'm guessing 'turn of the century'. Bumping thread so someone who can narrow it down will answer.
Doesn't Classic racing involve skiing uphill? Do people generally use skins, kick wax or waxless skis for the climbs? I wouldn't have thought of SG skis for that kind of race. Are the downhills really like DH or more like GS? Anyway, the skis look like (scary fast) fun. Enjoy!
