Agreed it truly is a fantastic feat of engineering.

It's just also a dumb idea and a huge waste of money (if you're a skier - if you're a sightseer, than I sure it's wonderful).

I wont go to Whistler for the Peak to Peak. Ill go there for the awesome resort it has become.

I will ride the Peak to Peak to check it out. I don't know if it will draw more people in or not but from my point of view it really can't hurt.

Overall it is an enhancement to the resort.

Driving to work today, I could actually see the cables strung across the valley for the first time. Not sure how many of the 6 in total (4 track ropes and 1 haul rope looped around) were up there, but our viewscape is forever changed. It's not quite as shocking as I'd expected, but then again, the gondolas aren't hung yet.

Ticket info/ cable stringin

Hey All-

Here is more information about the Peak 2 Peak. I spoke with Michelle Leroux at Whistler about the pricing structure, and although she didn't give me concrete details, I think you all will be pretty happy.

Happy that they're going to be adding the price into tickets?

Our destination tickets - through tour operators, booked online, packages, ticket window - will have the P2P embedded in the ticket price," Leroux said. "We aren't announcing ticket rates until the fall as we always do."

Not one bit. Not one eeensy little bit.

My feelings on this are well known here, still I would like to point out that several years ago in the local paper (the Pique) someone from Interwest said (responding to criticism that it would be an eyesore) and I am ad-libbing here "you will not be able to see a thing from the Village".

Though I am not doubt living in the past, W/B reached it's zenith around 1987, and it's been going downhill since then in my humble opinion....
