Hide the credit cards.

Just when I decide to commute by bicycle to save on gas money and get in shape, SAC starts Chain Love; http://www.chainlove.com/chainlove/manifesto.html
http://www.chainlove.com/

So much for the "saving money" part of the plan :.

Great. Its bad enough I have to keep the SAC site up all day at work. Now I'll have to monitor this one, also.

My bank account is crying.

I tried to not give in, but lost that arguement with myself a little too easily. Those ultrasensor short from Pearl were just too good of a deal. And now that I'm biking in to work, I'm gonna need them.

Me too! I was even looking for new bike shorts, so I succumbed easily. Curses! :

Eh, you got me fired up, so I bought some ugly socks. They were marked down a lot. I woulda bought one of those Pinarellos if I thought it fit me. :

Thanks for the heads up.

It's not what you spend, its what you save.
No, Phil, actually it's "The more you spend, the more you save!"

In my rep days, I used to call on a (long defunct) one store discounter in Middletown NY that had that slogan printed on their shopping bags......

Alright, how long until the FireFox plug-in gets added?

I need to know how long I have to save!

This forum needs a Chain Love Deal Alert Sticky!

....must....stop....buying.....bike....stuff.....: drool:

OK, one more.
Looking for a rear replacement for a rear tire IRC Backcountry 26x2.25 that will match or complement the front of the same. While watching the tire deals, any recommendations for all-around/MTB tires? Looks like Continentals are the frequently featured manufacturer. Most frequent terrain is highly variable from hard gravel roads to loose, dry, rocky soils, silts and clays.

Maybe skier219 can add the ChainLove plugin to MacSac and then an option to set an alarm for certain type items we can select.....hint...hint....:

TIA
Terry

Conti's roll fast but don't give a whole lot of grip. They also run VERY small for their stated width. If you like fast rolling, round profile tires with lots of small knobs (I happen to...) then you'll probably like Conti, if you prefer 'edgier' tires they probably aren't a good match.

PM Epic, he's a tire whore.

Look for something with fairly well spaced center knobs that all ow penetration into the soil, and a tighter row of tall outer knobs that will make a "dam" on the outside. An example would be Hutchinson Barracuda (f) and Piranha (r).

I have Piranhas on two of my bikes and liked them so well I put them on my daughter's and girl friend's bikes. You can get a great deal on them and Barracudas at:
