Well, we were planning on getting in our last hurrahs of the season before converting to summer mode. Little did we know that mother nature had one last surprise for us, namely 16 inches of wet freshies and a return to winter. On Friday the conditions would best be described as 3 inches of peanut butter on top of burnt toast, but by Monday we were skiing in knee deep pow with maybe a few hundred people at most on the hill. The only chairs running were 1,2,3,6 and the gondola, but because it snowed so much, with a bit of hiking most of the mountain was skiable and freshies were everywhere. You did have to tread a bit lighly in some spots as the cover was thin in places, but the mountain was literally transformed. By noon on Monday, the rumor was confirmed that the mountain was extending the season until at least June 1st, so for any of you diehards, there's still lift accessed skiing at Wooly for a bit longer.
