How to Marker out.. - Page 2

The video was hilarious. kubagr, however, was a frickin' riot.

Thats a priceless shot, America's Funniest Home video stuff....hope he was ok.

IMHO, the bindings worked well, at least in that case.

I'm not sure which is more hell-ar-ious, the vid or the banter! But great clip Bushwacker. Need more like that while I wait for fall!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.

Good clip BWIP. Heel pieces saved his knees but yeah, a bit of absorption would have too. Ouch.

Do you grasp how accurate that seems? Calm down and reflect on the difference between having strong opinions and flailing. Especially as a new guy on a ski site at respected members who are friggin INSTRUCTORS!

Isn't this classic bow effect?
that was pretty funny ... and having been a victim of Marker-ing out I think the unseen bump did that one

You should send some of these into AFHV

Let's review:

The video shows a guy releasing from the heels while skiing on what appear to be Look bindings.
And the OP calls this "Markering out" (an alleged phenomenon that involves premature toe releases)

Well, now I know how seriously to take his opinions.

BTW, comprex has it right - it's Bow effect, which is a software not a hardware problem. As most complaints about alleged failures of Markers appear to be.

do YOU grasp the concept why bwpa published this clip?? it was to support the lousy (in his opinion) prerealese stuff of markers binding. in this clip, the release is as much needed as possible, and the release is obviously thru the heel piece. as you know, the toe piece is blaimed for the "prelease" .......

so if INSTRUCTOR is showing this kind of clips, to support the prerealese' legend, i can't agree with it. i think this is obvious...........

you know I know all of this, and still posted the thread title like that....because it was alot funnier than other options.

Ct55 know all about markering out, though funn this is the excact spot that Bjohnasson markered out this year.

ct55 not sure if you have ever seen that?

the other ironic part about Ct55 and Bjohannson was they both told me thier binding were never a problem...then proceded to prerelease all over the place.

Keep digging kubbie. You look more foolish with every word you post.
to be fair once I had the forward pressure reset it's been OK ... well that and I use other skis/bindings for deep snow now

I'll...try...slowly...and...deliberately: You're...missing...the...point. Bush...always...makes...fun...of...Markers. You're...correlating...a...funny...verb...in...the ...title...with...a...funny...clip. No...correlation...except...to...jerk...people's.. .chains. He...sure...as...hell...knows...it's...a...heel... release...and...probably...a...Look.

Now go take your blood pressure meds and off to bed.

Stick to your guns kubagr, you're the real skier and BwiPA is a virtual skier, it's more fun for us all if you continue your insistence that you know more about him than the rest of us.
am i the only one to notice that Kubagr's spelling and grammar is almost as atrocious as Bushwacker's?

i think they're the same person...

at least after having skied with Bush for a 6 day stint, and after having slept on his floor, and supped with him numerous times, i know that he can indeed ski and i can indeed decypher his posts (he talks New Englandish en super speedness and that's how he types).

not sure what Kubagr's excuse is.

also it's nice to have somebody using the Interwebs and posting on a message board calling somebody else a virtual skier. that's friggin' classic.

oh the ironingy!

as i said in another post some of y'all need to spend more time skiing and less time dishing out virtual gobbledygook.

Dude, it was only twice in about 2 hours

To be fair, I had never Marker-ed out until I skied with BWPA. He showed me spots I would never have found and gave me confidence to ski much harder than I normally do in the hairy spots (the spot in the pic above is pretty darn steep with a bit of cliff exposure lookers right). My ski should not have released in this spot, but did.
all well and good, it has been posted here quite a few times... this is was heel release.
I Markered out on Rossis many times this year because of bending a ski in soft snow when I put too much weight on it. I don't blame the bindings even though I tightened them a bit . I blame a heavy foot when finesse would have served me better.
I did the same thing a couple years ago. Just skiing poorly, not really looking where I was going and was way too rigid. Same release, except my friends were laughing at me instead of offering help. I deserved it though.

Also, I was on Tyrolia bindings.
Who knows what the bindings were set on, it could have been 4. However, I did pre-release out of Markers and ESS-Var more than I ever did out of Salomon.
Anyone who ever used Salomon binding is a gaper for life.
Welcome to the club trod.
Welcome to the gaper club? I wasn't quite myself when I posted that. I have used Salomon and I am a gaper for life. I used Markers the most, so I grew fond of the Marker brand, and Salomon is a brand I never owned. I haven't tried newer Markers, so I don't know. I use bindings that release upwards at the toe, which I like, so I guess Marker binding would probably work fine for an older, more conservative, skier like myself but maybe not for a young aggressive skier like Bushwacker. It seems like many good skiers are happy with Markers (until they ski with Bush at the Bird ).
so what you're saying is maybe we should rename this "Bushwacking off"?
nice funny BWPA... I laughed my arse off watching dude spuerman off-camera at all of 1/4 mph... I saw it and thought somebody turned his DIN to like 2 but nope just terrible gorilla form...

I'd bet you couldn't tow a greased needle out of Kubagr's arse with a bulldozer. You didn't laugh? Jeeeeeeeeeesus you need to lay off... I've never skied with BDub, but dude the guy is reeeeeal funny and posts alot of great info for people who have questions or need help. I don't recall seeing anything similarly awesome from you yet. Even if we were in a strictly virtual world, you'd still be calling him daddy so be easy and learn how to take a joke.

People here have strong opinions about their allegiances to certain ski companies. Therefore, people enjoy ribbing each other about the minute downfalls their favorite stuff has. Sollie guys get their stones busted about plastic parts. Marker guys get messed with about toe release. It's all in good fun, even if the video doesn't apply. This is called humor. Try it sometime.
