May 23rd, Snowbird, Ut powpow day

Today was kinda of skiing in the PNW, heavy snow, everything slid that was steep, I mean everything there, there was stuff that crossed groomers and shut down lifts. By the end of the day alot of stuff was shut and truthfully the skiing was pretty **** when it got tracked out. If you planned on skiing this weekend, dont go, wait till next weekend. the only good skiing this weekend was this morning. Hopefully it gets warm enough this week that closing weekend is smooth corn again. We will need really warm weather to get rid of the 4-6 feet deep debris piles.

Enough with that the skiing today from 9-12 was pretty sick at least if it was untracked.

Lets get this started with some music

Silver Fox was pretty much money, best top to bottom run all day, only steep run that didnt slide today. me being the early bird gets the worm.

The next run we did Nirvana which was the best snow all day long.

Adrian in a nirvana state of mind

Me enjoying what untracked we found today

I was pretty stoked about the day

untill we ended up on the rollover which slid to the ground and made a debris field that was 6 feet deep and just about the worst skiing ever.

On the way back though mineral basin to get to the top we encounter a white out

Little Cloud was the best overall skiing today

Me dropping into a run I like to call 'lil Corbet's"

I get rewarded with the whiteroom

Adrian finding out why utah rocks

Lil corbets from the bottom, me getting alittle bit of air despite the super flat light

Me slashing a turn out

a natural release avalanche that came down over chips

I would of taken more shots of the avalanches today but the light was so bad they wouldnt of came out any ways, my biggest slide today was 10 yards wide and ran for about 100 yards, pretty sizeable and so bigger ones being set off, as far as I know everyone is ok.

Bush you need to time date those photos, they must have been taken in Jan or Feb , come on you guys haven't even had any melting out there yet by the looks of those pictures. Looks like you'll get some July skiing in huh? Nice looking stuff, I think I'll have to book my next winter vacation for May or June of 09. keep ripping it up.

BWPA, did it really slide to the ground or do you mean it slid to the old snow layer?
