|The big winds that preceded this storm system ended up being the tornadoes, I think. Note of trivia: Weld County has the highest number of tornadoes in the US.
They were wacky winds yesterday. The closest ones to my house were near Fredrick/Firestone. If I had gotten out the binoculars, I probably could have seen the stupid things. I did get some hail, just marble sized.
Generally Weld County tornado's are rope tornado's and very brief. Those yesterday didn't fit the profile. I can sometimes see those Weld County tornado's from my house.
I have had windstorms here with gusts up to 127 mph and sustained around 80 mph. My whole house shook and I thought about retiring to the basement. A neighbors freshly sodded lawn blew away. Some people were killed/injured during that.
