Got an e-mail from my friend who was in my ski haus in Park City this year...she moved out there permanently :.....I can't do that with my job. Anyhow....she said after it being 80 this week...the ground is all covered with snow in Park City...a foot of snow feel at the Bird and more coming down now. Its only open Friday through Sunday so she'll be skiing 18" of POW tomorrow at the start of Memorial Day Weekend! So Jealous.....She's had at leat 4-5 big POW days since most of the resorts closed out there in mid April....amazing season in the Wasatch!

Hell yes ! and that would be 13 inches, not a foot.

There is snow forecasted for today and tomorrow:

and the snow is coming down:

Abasin checks in today with 5 inches today. not bad considering it's now less than a month away from the summer soltice. you could still be skiing Abasin then if Abasin really wanted to.-nudge, nudge.

you could see the deck here a couple of days ago: http://www.arapahoebasin.com/?page=s...c960dfa6aeeb65

Great day at the Bird. At best, there was a foot and that's being generous, but when you think that today is May 23 and not March 23, there's no reason to complain. Conditions were variable around the mountain. Mineral Basin snow was very heavy and wet, almost like cottage cheese. In the morning under Little Cloud the snow was mostly wonderful (fresh stuff mixed in with some heavy crud and some windpack), but the visibility wasn't. My 9-year old was getting face shots. A buddy of mine complained about vertigo since it was hard to see anything and even at times tell if you were moving. Best runs took you through the trees for contrast and the snow was mostly fresh. Under Peruvian, and most of that end of the front face, the snow was heavy and cruddy. By around 2 pm, it was getting warm and turning slushy, and we headed home. All in all it was a great day!
