Yes, my friends; you've been talking about what you skied, how many days you've skied and even what next season will be like.

You've obviously gotten Ullr's attention. He dropped over 5 inches at Abasin on mother's day eve and 8 inches in the past 3. If you keep it up, I shudder to think just how long Abasin could stay open this year.

Get them back out of storage and wax 'em up !

Great enthusiasm skicougar!

My season isn't over yet. I waxed two snowboards and a pair of skis yesterday. I'll be up at the Basin tomorrow enjoying the freshies. Unfortunately, I think A-Basin's closing date is pretty much set at June 8. They'll still be plenty to hike for once they close.

I was looking at Aspen SkiCo's webcam's yesterday. It's still looking excellent over there. I hope the rumored re-opening of Highlands happens at the the Food and Wine Classic. Mmmmmm snowboarding and celebrity chefs cooking excellent epicurian delights washed down with tasty wines. :http://www.foodandwine.com/ext/classic/ Unfortunately, the passes are already sold out.

I skied Ajax (Aspen Mtn) yesterday, way more than 5" up there. I was laughing making turns with snow coming up and hitting my thighs!

I wouldn't count on Highlands for Food and Wine, but it would be sweet if it happened. Food and Wine is a great time.

Looking like 10inches for LCC tomorrow, time to grab the skins and hopefully a touring partner.

The last 2 days in Snowbird's sidecountry have been awesome corn skiing, 1500-2000 foot decents off ultra creamy corn then fast skiing back up to the top.

And yes..it has been awesome. I got as much snow on this trip as I did on my three week tour west.

Is it January or May ? I can't decide !

Blam ! Another 5 inches dropped on Abasin today. Yes, my friends; you had hoped all season that you could get in some skiing with great conditions and have the mountain all to yourself. Well, apparently; May is the month for that this year !

I can almost see the double-takes now. "We're barbequing spareribs for Memorial Day, what are you doing ?" "I'm skiing fresh powder."

It won't be Highlands. The gondola opens for summer operations 6/13 and they are thinking of opening up Ajax express.

Whom do I beg to/annoy to make this happen? I could be happy with Ajax Express I don't have a copy of the Aspen Yacht Club's race schedule to see if I can kill two birds with one stone. I do see Margot has a spinnaker crew position open. I could potentially snowboard and race on the same weekend. That is of course if Ruedi is unfrozen and the road down is snow free.

Just when I thought I was done with A-Basin...it taunts me again.
Well, I’ll show that mountain who is boss

I had heard the same thing earlier this week but, I just got down from a early morning skin to the top.

I would have to say that there is NO way they are going to open the Ajax express and have lift served skiing. The road is plowed and it is a mess up there.

Wouldn't count on it!

Yeah, I got the bad news this morning from SkiCo. I guess I have to surrender to summer sometime.

Well, I guess I can drive up to the Sundeck sometime this summer. I haven't done that in a few years.

Don, i think Ullr is laughing right back at you; he dropped 7 more inches on the basin since 5/13.

as for me, i'll take all Ullr wants to give us. last sunday, i sat out in the sun for 2 hours and it took me 3 days until the sunburn subsided enough that clothes were comfortable and i have still got legs that look like tomatoes.

dont run into that problem in a snowstorm.

They could open highlands, but they won't. I don't even have a pass either.
