Long board realitive to size of the skier?

Dang! Tyrone Shoelaces review and reading through the thread(s) on TGR about the Ludicrous Long Board Day.............

Got me thinking about remounting my husband's old Fischers for me.
Technically, they aren't long in the group of skis for the LLBD players, but a 210 Fischer RC4 from 1985 is pretty freakin long for a 125lb chick, eh?

Pictured here:
Would have to change the bindings as the vintage bindings on them are cracked.

203 might be just right enough for fun, if you've been doing your core twisty exercises.

Try mounting the PREs BOF-CRS first, tho.

Interesting concept....

So you are thinking a sliding scale of ski length to skier height?

Why not go back to the hold your arm above your head and the ski tip is at the wrist???? For me that means 225cm!!!!! My longest boards are only 207cm SL skis......

:Be sure to post a gear review. I really want to know of those Fisher Vacuums "SUCK" or not.:

I never skied those, but I know that my husband loved them in their day.

No, those were a pretty good stick for the day. I liked the red SL a little better. Mount them up.

Only problem is in MI, you will be down before you get enough speed to turn them.

FYI: The entry limits for the KW LBD were 210 for men and 200 for women. So 210 at your size would make you pretty hardcore! My 210s just made the limit this year, so I'm already looking for some 215+ for next year. I'll pass on the speed and jumping skis though, that looked like way too much work.

Mount them up and take them to A-Basin with you!

Is that a double dog dare?

Trekchick tip toes off,........... going to check to see if the 210's will fit in the gear bag.

i think it's all relative to your size, weight, and aggressiveness, not to mention your skill level.

while i have not yet had the pleasure to suck on some of Tyrone's vapor trails, i have followed in the wake of 666 (he is pictured in Ty's review of the Atomic Modell skis) and that dude RIPS. he's no joke and solid on just about everything I've managed to witness him riding (skis and terrain).

while i wasn't able to make it to the recent KW LBD, i know that if i'd have gotten on Tyrone's speed skis or 666's long boards massive amounts of unintential hilarity would have ensued. heck, i just about killed myself and ski icon Captain Powder last season on MTT's 195 Legend Pros...so jumping into a 240cm ski could only spell trouble for the Dook.

just because those guys make it all look like fun and games doesn't mean that it's easy as pie.

you have to bring your AAAAA game, at the very least, to the table when strapping those suckers on.

Yeah, and 911 will be there to verify! You could even strap them on her and let her experience nirvana! : Seriously, it is interesting watching people "gape" at your long skis and secretly wish that they were man or woman enough to ski such tools. Also, the ski patrol will stride over like Jackie Gleason in 'Smokey and the Bandit', to make sure that "You're not going to open them things up are you?".

I wouldn't trust that 547 or 757 bindings, they were Delrin plastic. look at the heal cups, I bet there are stress cracks in htem already.

If I head down to Mammoth in May maybe I should bring them. What is your BSL?

(i wonder if they would even fit in the gondy)

i'm a 305...i recall having a discussion with 666 about finding me a pair (or demoing some of his other skis or something) and i was considerably shorter in boot size than him and most of the participants, as well as most of the skis i had a line on. though admittedly i did leave it to the last minute thinking i had a line on some, but they all turned out to be 200 exactly (they were sweet, though...K2 Grateful Dead Rainforest Panthers!...which now that I think about it, the design alone should have been worth the 10cm deficit...)

i'm already working on a pair for next year, though.

actually, i was telling my mom and dad about LBD and my mom asked why I didn't borrow a pair of my grandmas wooden skis that are hanging on our family cabin wall. they have the leather straps for bindings and i think are at least 210...

So you tell the patroller, "You think you can catch me on those?" pointing to his 170's.

count me in, then!

i'll give 'em a whirl on that groomer zoomer they call "Stump Alley" at the very least...hopefully somebody can document my sure-to-be-gaper-steeze incarnate.

I've already looked and I don't trust those bindings. I'll be mounting bindings that are more current, or at least more trustworthy.
Thanks for caring!

Oh my ! I can picture this happening. But, while TC takes a run or 2 on the 210's I'm going to have to be trying her Bro's out. Just in case. And Trek, when the 210's wear you out, you can try my new SFTT's.
Betting the gear bag is tooooo short. Can't find bindings ? Snow7 could be your personal shopper.

Ooooo, Will I or won't I?
Maybe I'll just surprise you!!!
Gawd, we're gonna get into trouble!!!

As for Snow7 being a personal shopper...........I'm not sure I need help, but I'd love to have to say.....bring it on!!!

Hagan 210 cm downhill skies with Marker MRR Racing bindings.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Hagan-210-Downhi...QQcmdZViewItem

Anybody know about these? I only have 200's so if I ever plan on doing the long board thing I guess I better step it up. I know these will not fit in my roof box since I can barely get my 193's in there!
