How do I report getting spam

A question to admin or anyone that knows. How do I report someone that sends me spam mail and stop them from sending me any more?

I have just joined and the first mail I get is spam about religion. I do not want to get this type of thing. is this normal on this forum? Is this a serious forum for skiing or just a place to chat, I hope it is a serious place, that is what I was told.

Hope someone can help out, thanks.

Welcome to EpicSki!
Richie is correct. Spam PM'ing is not the norm.
Spammers are getting more creative as time goes on, and they've found a new method of getting around our usual tactics to keep them at bey.

If you get a spam PM, we ask that you contact a Moderator, and we'll be see if we can escort him/her to the door.

I haven't gotten any.
Is it a PM or are you set up to display your regular e-mail?

Just got my spam from "Patricia" with 0 posts, regarding the wonders of Buddism. Not going to argue for against this relgious belief system. However, I am peeved at receiving spam.
This is the first time I've been gotten, so no, it isn't the norm.

Upon being notified, I showed her to the door and locked it behind her.

I feel left out. I didn't get spammed about spiritual enlightenment. Isn't my soul worth saving?

There were at least 22 recipients of the spam message babbling something about buddism and concluding with a web address. Most of the members picked for this message were new and have low post counts, probably with the idea that it would take longer to be reported. That appears to be the case anyway.

Please report any suspicious or unwanted personal messages to the moderator team.

Thanks for taking action quickly, it is good to hear that this is not the norm. My season is almost over but I look forward to chatting on here in the future.

We changed the way the site works so that private messages cannot be sent by members that have not posted in the forums. This will pretty much eliminate spamming of this type.
On the other hand, you need to make one more post.

I also received it.

Yeah, I got it too. I'm new here, and have a low post count. I was excited to see a PM thinking someone wanted to talk specifically about skiing or skis or whatever. So, I immediately viewed it on my blackberry and was like WTF?

Thanks for shutting it down.

I got that message when I first joined (last week). Sounds like it was only going to new people.

I almost thought of converting to bhuddism though...
