Breckenridge 4/19

Ok... only one more day to go for Breck...

Started out early.. Took the T-Bar up. A little icy in the morning where it isn't groomed. Hard pack in some places at the top of the T-Bar but not bad. After a few hours everything softened up. Nice spring skiing. Slushy and slow at the bottom. No dirt showing anywhere. Plenty of snow... The conditions were typical spring skiing and very good. Sad thing is this is the worst day we've had all season, since the snow has been so good with so many powder days (even last weekend).

6 Chair was closed all day. Imperial lift looked to be open, but I didn't ski over to try it.

Kind of crowded for an April ski day. Last year was empty this time of year. Oh.. and the pay lots down by the gondola were free if you get there before they filled up. Bergy Smokehouse was closed (grrr). I need my smoked meat! Had to settle for some outdoor bbq.

Headed over to a A-basin tomorrow. I'm thinking I could ski until June this year with this type of snow. Now if I can just convince my 6 year old son!

I was up there with dawnhill and madmike yesterday. Did some laps off Imperial -- skied pretty well once you got past the first two or three turns up top (pretty frozen even at 11:30). Hit Whale's Tail into Y Chutes. Variable conditions -- wind-buffed, crusty, soft, sometimes all in one turn. Groomers were in good condition. The bottom half got really gloppy a little after noon. Bumps over on Peak 10 were really soft around 2.

Will post some pics later.
