Wow...I don't even know where to start. Can you believe Vail is going to close in 2 days. It was an epic day. It Nuked about 5 inches while I was there on top of the 13" the night before. This has been the best ski season ever.

up at our place in Summit Co. now... waiting for Vail tomorrow. This season has been awesome. I think I've only had about 2 days out of 40 that weren't Powder. I can't believe Vail is closing this weekend. Tons of snow.. Not many people though.. I guess it just doesn't make sense to stay open financially.
I love April skiing. No lift lines!

Yesterday at Vail was simply awesome: 13-24" of fresh, not too many skiers, and too many great lines to be had. Looks like today was similar (A-Basin was a party with great snow - deep pockets on Pali and back in Montezuma).

Today early was not too bad either. My buddy and I came in off of the traverse into SunDown Bowl. As we made the turn, we both fell as the snow was mid-thigh deep. Unbelievable. This is April?

Lots of people out, and a lot of lifts and restaurants closed. Still it was a great day skiing some untracked and lots of crud.

Um, Saturday, April 12 was judged the most epic powder day any of us had ever experienced in Colorado. Period. We had line after line of untracked fluff, all day long. At one point I measured powder depth as the full length of my ski pole, plus the full length of my arm, with no bottom. I have pics, but I don't have time to post them, as we gotta go do it again today (closing day!).

Can't wait to see those pics. I'm stuck at work on Closing day.

Closing day at Vail was a blast! Lots of ego groom first thing, mashed potatoes by midday, and glop at the end. Even hit big air off a cornice - but that's for the full TR that I'll post from home, when I have a full laptop and not this iPhone.

Truely an epic snow event, Vail was fat on Thursday, Vail Pass even better Friday, Copper a day of rest with P-Funk then another awsome powder day at Loveland on Sunday. April Skiing rules!
