Films done on "your" Mountain

The Shining (1980)
Jack Nicholson & Shelley Duvall done by Stanley Kubrick…too pysco...but you've got to love the Lodge.

And then there was:

All the young men (1960) with Sidney Poitier, Allen Ladd about the Korean war;
maybe some of the best photography of Hood.

And lest I forget:

Bend of the River (1952)
James Stewart, Arthur Kennedy Rock Harry (then Henry) Morgan, Royal Dano, and Jack Lambert.
Filmed along the Columbia River then up and over Mt Hood.

What has been done on "your" Mountain?

I'm pretty sure a film released to video last year was filmed in Killington.I don't know the name or plot line but friends said it was lame.

The Sunriver area south of Bend and east of Bachelor has been used in several movies including Indian Fighter, Rooster Cogburn and Up the Creek.

My friend and I have been brainstorming ideas for a ski opera that would involve that former-stripper/mayor from Georgetown, a hut dwelling axe murdering maniac bump skier, sadistic snow board squadrons, hordes of vacationing Texans, a ghost-groomer that only comes out on the coldest, snowiest nights, and other unmentionables.

It will be called Blood On The Mountain and we plan to sell the film rites for lots of loot.

On Cave Hill (here in Belfast), a famous movie was made called "Day of the thousand squirrels". I can't remember much about it, except that it was a real fun movie. I think it was released by 21st Century Fox.

Here's one shot here in Park City, I'm amazed that the local chamber still admits it:
Ya gotta love this !trailer

I also have to put in that "crazy" TV series Extreme (or was it Extreme Rescue?) in here since they shot it in PC too. I think it didn't even last one episode... though it was kinda fun to see my ski bum budies on TV slumped over the bar as extras - I don't think that they got paid in cash, just beer - that's the sign of a true ski movie!

I wish Warren Miller and his helicopter would stay the hell away from Big Sky. Not only do I no longer like his movies, but he makes us all jealous when we have to stare at him doing circles in the air above us in his heli.
