For those who did not attend the Epic Ski Week at Big Sky - FIND A WAY to visit before you die !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just finished a two day bite which left me feeling like an addict desparate for their next fix. Almost 4400 vertical feet / 4000 acres to play on. If you add the adjacent Moonlight Basin, bigger then Vail. White knuckled beginner or spit in the face of death expert - plenty to go around. I had the first day with 6-8" of fresh followed by a day in the sun - both days truly mid-winter conditions. My tastes lean towards steeps and trees. Off the Lone Peak tram, Liberty Bowl was an ear to ear smile with endless knee deep high speed GS turns. Dictator Chutes, skier left of the bowl required closer attention : but still a blast. Epicski Dax was most gracious to spend Saturday afternoon with me via Pack Saddle Glades and Bacon Rind (more glades) off the Shedhorn lift and Moonlight/Midnight (glades & bowls) off of the Challenger Chair. Snow was soft, bumps were rounded and skiing - at times - challenging !!!! To add whip cream and a cherry, I was on my first two days with 173 Icelantic Shamans = my new WEAPON OF CHOICE for powder, trees, sping snow ........ I stayed at the Huntley Lodge which had LARGE rooms eqiupped with fridge and an excellent buffet breakfast to boot. Evening hot tubbing a relaxing plus.

And did I say BIG - I was told the most crowded day was during Presidents week with approx. 5000 skiers = EMPTY = NO LIFT LINES !!!!
