When I lived close to tahoe I'd always do a spring trip with my son but that was usually in April back when we had global warming not now that we're entering into a cold period.
It's Spring. It's warm, it's cold at night, it's sunny during the day. And, you get a huge variety of snow conditions & it is absolutely beautiful anywhere you go in Tahoe. There is lots of snow & base. The texture varies greatly but so what ? One moment you have snow that feels like January, another that makes you think of Eastern skiers, then another moment that reminds you it is in fact spring. All in about 1 - 5 minutes down a run. You ski through the seasons in moments. As someone else said, it's still skiing. So, it comes down to, it's April. You snooze, you lose.
Okay, so you want to know "how good is it ?" Well, what is your definition of good enough to ski in ?
