Maybe I'll see you at the Springs today. Going up for the last day of the season for me. I'll be lapping goosebumps all day. Breaking out the bikes and hitting Laurel tomorrow to kick off a new season.

Hi Matt, I missed skiing with you this year and I'll miss you today. I'm sad to say I had to check out nursing homes for my mother and step-father today. Mortality sucks and aging is not for wimps.

Marcus and I did some skiing at 7S last Saturday. We skied it pretty hard but Goosebumps was coral early and we never made it back to the front side in the afternoon when the day warmed. Marcus had to beeline down mountain at 2 for work. Pierre would have liked the conditions but it was no fun for me or Marcus' knees so back to speed and gees on the North Face. I think my season is over, tomorrow looks very doubtful.

We'll ski Laurel next season, I hope. I'm sure you've found some of the secret runs while on your bike. Maybe you can show me something new.

I expect to hit Hunter on Friday, when it reopens after being closed Mon - Thurs.
I'll post a report on conditions as soon as I get back; if it's very warm I'll be leaving there at noon and be back here, and online, before 3PM.

I'm going there to test my orthotics; I'll ski Hellgate, Cliff, Heuga, DropOff, Racers, Belt, White Cloud. The West Side is supposedly closed for the season; I'll see Friday.

Rob,

You didn't miss much. Goose and Avy bumps were suncups. Skiable, but not exactly how I'd like to finish the season. The groomers were dead, the slush is toast and just slops out of the way in the turns, kind of like turning in water. Now to get the diesel slime off the bottom of our skis...

Here's to hoping that Laural opens next year! It is one of the places I would love to try.

Hopefully there will be skiing until June ( or later ) up at snowbird.

Yep, three sets of skis are waxed and hung up. Time to wax Mrs. Crazies', jr. Crazies', and my rock skis. Put a fork in me, I'm done. Time to bike and watch the kids play spring soccer.

Knee deep powder was found in some stashes at Vail today...

18 holes of golf with some friends in glorious 68 degree temps felt like Spring is finally here. Even though Chautauqua Lake is still ice covered.

No trip to Colorado this year. My ski season is over.

Oh ya, I shot an 84. I'll take it for the first day out.

The best has just begun, the problem is PSIA skiers don't know how to ski soft corn bumps. ::: I'm taking a vacation and skiing Wildcat this week. Sorry for the ski rant but I call them as I read them. I miss the days leaving work and skiing Killington in May, those days are long gone due to psia ambassadors who teach the wrong way. No one can ski soft corn bumps because the instructors can't ski them. I apologize in advance for not replying to any responses but I logged on because I'm fired up for my ski trip and I read skiers talk about golf. Due real golfers talk about skiing?? I will enjoy no lift lines and the barbaque in the parking lot with a small community enjoying the 50 degree temps.

That's merely a symptom of the problem/ The problem is 95% of the equipment used today isn't condusive to good bump skiing. BigSkiCo gives instructors that equipment dirt cheap in exchange for pushing it at the resorts so now everybody's riding edges instead of turning skis. Notning wrong with riding edges (AKA carving) as long as you also posess the other skills/total package. If you don't you can't ski bumps. If there aren't many people that can ski bumps or want to, bump runs either won't materialize or will be groomed away if they do most places. I like to ski bumps from time to time, used to quite a bit. But, I make the best of what is available. I didn't see any bumps in any of the 1200 vert at 5500 elevation in Smokeys this year. I guess I'll have to travel a lot farther next year if I really want to ski bumps.

5 more days left for me out here in CO in what could be described as mid-winter conditions. It's snowing now and they're calling for 4-8" tomorrow

This is the time of year I play outdoor tennis in Milan and ski some of the best days of the season up at the hill. My mountain unfortunately closes April 20 this year (see rant in Eurozone), so I'll probably only get another five days or so. Snowing this week.
Got face shots yesterday. Smooth, silky snow, 18' base. Found untracked lines inbounds all the way to closing.

My season is over. I think I ended up with somewhere between 30 and 40 days. Thats a lot of skiing for me since the wife doesn't really like to ski locally. I did finish in a big way though with 6 days at Jackson Hole last week. Talk about great spring conditions.

Now its race season. Time to get the car out of the garage and ready to go.

Killington was great today. Bluebird skies and temps starting in the 20s and rising to the low 40s by mid afternoon. Snow went from groomed and firm, to corn, to a bit heavy by mid afternoon.

I love this time of year. Long road ride on Friday, crusing GS skiing on Saturday, and on Sunday had first tracks in the Dive at Sunshine with 10 inches of new snow and pockets of waist deep powder. All this is followed by a nice mountain bike ride on partly dry & party snow covered trails. Life is good!

The snow at Sunshine is still mostly winter conditions, and the forcast is for continued winter conditions up high. Will ski at the hill until mid May.

My season is probably over, but I've logged in a record... 15 days I injured my right knee the very first day while performing jumping drills with my athletes (warm-up beforehand people!). Stoneham just closed with more cover than they had at any point in the last 10 years and Mont Sainte-Anne will also close early this year

First season since I was 8 that I had less than 50 days on snow

Okemo is done the 20th...I figure someone, somewhere, will be open past that in the east. That gets me to the 27th, then I've got Tucks afterwards. I figure another 20 days, give or take, are in order! 140 days this season...not bad for an attorney! (Just don't ask my boss how many days I worked this season!)

Season over? Depends if Portillo, Chile counts as this season or next!

Mt. Snow in the Banana belt of Vermont announced "open 7 days a week till April 20>

Two More Weeks!
Two More Weeks!

It's going to be warm this week, so the cover will go fast.
