I'd put my money on him. :-)
An incredible man, an incredible run.

The Olins are 180s, not long enough for serious cruising but seriously fun in bumps on a sunny day. They were on snow maybe once and had some very nice Geze bindings but just did not look right. The orange 77s were on a well used pair of 220 Kneissl and I was very unlikely to take those out. The sound of stepping into the Looks is like a Mercedes car door closing and worked as smooth as silk.
Cool! I'm not recognizing the hill though. Do you know (or remember) ?

Nicely done!
I always liked the Comp IV better than the original Mk IV. Nice orange 77's! I need a few pairs of those....anyone?
Perfect Spring day retro gear ![]()

I particularly like the hat. Polaris's?

I see that you are missing a toe pad. I may have a spare or can atleast make you one. I have made several. Let me know.
I love the LOOK Jacket too.

Yup, that is the Look binding key with "ESS" on it. And the blue plastic thing top left is an "Edge Harp" (side edge tool with a little file built in).
Will have to RTFM (on the box itself) and then give the Release Check a try! ;-)
Any idea on the vintage of these "Husler" skis? Late 70's maybe? Couldn't find anything using Google. Pretty short by old standards. Maybe a beginner/intermediate model?
Damn they purty though, gouge and all! ;-)
Me so happy!
This clip was on LOOK's home page for a while. Not sure if it has been posted here before but still good for a grin. Takes almost a minute to fully load, at least for me.

Funny stuff. Not so easy to do a yard sale convincingly.
As markojp remarked a few posts after the one above...
"Thought the same for a moment until you look at the 'boot/brake-out' issues." No kidding!
When I first looked at the skis I wondered why they were labeled L and R, then I noticed that fat brake hinge hanging low off the side, and realized if it were on the inside edge** you'd run into "brake out" with any kind of angle at all. Even with it on the outside edge have to wonder about it causing problems. Best steer only or ski em one-footed, I guess! ;-)
Anyone ever actually ski anything that had this type of snowlife brake?
BTW, I went back and asked, and was told the Hart Husler skis were purchased new in 1975 or 1976 for $90. Still curious to know what slot they occupied in the Hart product line at that time if anyone knows.
I put in my first ever day on straight skis two weekends ago. A pair of Dynastar Pro 990s in 180. It was spring slush out. I'd have liked an extra 10cm at least, but they were lots of fun.
I'd post pics, but given the timbre of this website, my pants from that afternoon might be a bit too much. ;-)
Got to be Alpine or Pine Knob, I think?
Interesting.......'cause I sure do recognise all the others!
I think Durafiber only made them for Head for one or two years and then Head started their own shop and probably changed the graphic. I was on the Durafiber XR2 with the black matte finish with alternate red and blue inlays in the early to mid 70's?

My husband would not approve.
