Raichle Boots...never skied these but did find them "interesting"....
These were at that time a fun and comfortable boot. Awesome design!!!!!!!
The boots above, are the first production with black Inner boot and they did not have a Inside plate as the ones I have. The fiber Glass smashed out and became soft with out the plate. Many of the K2 demo team used these. Same with Art and Corkey Fowler.
Its curious to note that the slots in the front of each boot are about the same height. It would seem that the forward flex would be increasing in stiffness some while the lateral support would be increasing significantly. Mackware, is that an accurate observation?
Can you actually use those boots? Which is to say is the plastic still strong enough for the boot to be worn without damaging it?
Not to nitpick but I think those VR17s are from the early eighties. My first 'real' (read race) skis from 1982 looked just like those. Mine said Geant (GS) on them. The binding seems to be covering some of the writing, so it's hard to tell if you have the slaloms or the GS which shared the same graphics.
